Discover Maracaibo
The Gulf of Maracaibo was first explored by Europeans in 1499, when they arrived Alonso de Ojeda and Amerigo Vespucci. The Lake Maracaibo is the largest in South America and has a channel through it which connects directly with the Caribbean Sea.
