The new 3-story lobby is filled with marble, brass, dark stained woods and several grand paintings all lit naturally by 3 stories of window which look out over a massive 5 lane porte cochere.
This is a traditional hotel.

The hotel has two water view restaurants, a sky lounge, and a new upscale lounge/restaurant featuring specialty Martinis and California cuisine.

We spent 5 nights in san diego and it was a venue that we'd like to visit again. the hotel had great views over the harbour, had fantastic shopping just outside the back door; the buffet breakfasts were a highlight as were the late night drinks and meals at the lobby bar; the service really made us feel at home. we'd wouldn't hestitate to book the manchester grand hyatt in san diego when we come back next time.
