Lobby
The hotel has a medium lobby.
Exterior
From the outside, we're an Empire- and Greek Revival-style gem- a picture of classic grandeur. Inside, we pour on contemporary comforts, including plush guest rooms adorned with white tufted leather fixtures and suites with Japanese soaking tubs, and a sweeping living room lobby where complimentary wine is offered every evening. We're big on preserving the building's historic integrity, from the original marble elevator banks up to the coffered ceiling.
Rooms
To honor our storied architecture and the neighborhood's rich past, we've seasoned our guest rooms with early-period design accents, like spacious marble desks with carved column bases, and massive mirrored end tables. But the decor is not all pomp and circumstance. We like to have fun, too, and our playful side unfolds in plucky details like gold-and-blue wallpaper with bold, geometric patterns.
Restaurant
You don't have to go far for a delicious, honest meal. Red Owl Tavern adjoins our hotel at one of the most animated corners of historic Philadelphia and peppers your stay with seasonal, local ingredients. It's a spot the entire neighborhood takes note of for its welcoming outdoor wraparound café and warm, polished service. That's not to mention our rooftop lounge, Stratus, which overlooks Independence National Historic Park. We promise that, as night draws near, the lounge becomes more animated than a firecracker on the Fourth of July. We'd even venture to say it's the place to be in Philly.
