The 60-acre resort is 11 miles from Sombrero Country Club and 13 miles from Pigeon Key. The hotel can arrange transportation from Marathon Airport, 10 miles from the hotel. A tram service links various parts of the resort, and the hotel rents bikes to visiting guests. Wonderful family-friendly resort!
Hawk's cay totally exceeded our expectations! it is located on sprawling, lush grounds well away from bustling highway 1 a rarity in the keys. the property was everything you would expect from a 5-star resort: fabulous grounds with several pools, tiki bar, restaurants, activities, lovely rooms, and attentive staff. they even have a private lagoon equipped with paddleboards and kayaks, perfect for my 11-yr old to do on her own without our supervision (not as fun for adults if you are expecting to be able to kayak around the area). they even have a starbucks on site that also has yummy gelato. they also have the dolphin connection where you can either participate or view the dolphin encounters. everyone from the front desk staff to housekeeping was so wonderful and accommodating. our room was lovely and clean. would stay here again in a heartbeat!
