We got off the train at haymarket and had a little difficulty finding the hotel. pleasant and welcoming, certainly above 2 star standard. rooms basic but clean and warm. breakfast buffet type and substantial. cafe available for snacks in evening. well placed for buses to the centre, to holyrood and to ocean terminal.
internet access available but a little pricey.
all in all a real bargain.

Nice quiet hotel just 5 mins walk from the grassmarket and 12 mins from princes street.it said when booking that the breakfast was continental but cooked breakfast was available also.edinburgh itself is like a building site at the moment with most of city centre dug up so that they can install the tram system. that did not spoil our weekend here at all and im sure that we will be back here soon and using this hotel again.

A comfortable 2 star hotel with a short walk (10mins) or very quick bus ride into the centre of edinburgh. i'm not sure why this hotel is not rated 3 star as it has everything you could need. also the breakfast is good and offers a wide selection. the price on hotel click was excellent value for money and i would recommend my friends the hotel. i think it is less convenient for people who can't walk into town as there is quite a bit of up hill and very unappealing scenery to walk through. also note, the nearby bus has a very limited service on a sunday. but a day bus pass is just £2.50 (buy from driver and be sure to have the correct money - no change given. single ride £1). my only gripe was the construction work going on behind the hotel as the site has a very strong smell to it which hangs in the air in the hotel and nearby streets. the construction work is not a problem as the workers start at a reasonable time, stop at 5.15pm
and do not work at the weekend.
