If you arrive by train you have a long walk to the hotel. taxis in town are scarce and no offer from the hotel to pick us up, luckily it was nice weather!! the hotel itself looks lovely from outside but once in it was a bit of a ghost town! very old and in dire need of decoration. all the paintwork is old and a lot is discoloured, even a wash down of all woodwork would've helped. the bathroom was a nice size but again in need of repainting!! damp stains on ceiling and dirty grouting etc. pretty poor cleanliness throughout, which is quite sad as it is a lovely old hotel. beds were comfortable and rooms a nice size, but would i stay here again??....................afraid it's a definite no
