Capital stay

Really nice hotel right in the middle of dublin. you may spend a little more money to book the place but you don't waste time on getting to the city centre or you don't need to spend money on taxis. nice bar always full of people.

Excellent experience until the wait for the taxi

Polite, helpful staff and an impressive lobby with a range of comfortable seats create a very welcoming atmosphere. the room was very comfortable, wifi worked very well and the double-glazing prevented noise disturbance from the road (i was at the front on the first floor). and with breakfast well up to standard i was very pleased with my choice...however it was spoiled right at the end when i ordered a taxi from the reception staff. apparently the hotel use one company and after waiting 15 minutes (as vacant taxis were passing in the street outside) the receptionist called the company and i was told it would be three minutes more. after eight more minutes i was told it would be another three minutes. i then gave up and immediately hailed a passing taxi for the airport. i'm not complaining about the staff, they were doing their best, but the hotel restricting its service to one taxi company may serve them and the company but it doesn't serve the customer.

Best located hotel in dublin

Stayed for a very pleasant weekend with friends, all of whom approved of the hotel. friendly and efficient staff, good service, and good breakfast choice. location is away from temple bar - but still only 5 minutes away - found some excellent pubs nearby, away from the centre and the crowds.

Central clean hotel

We stayed 3 nights here and the rooms are very spacious and clean. the lighting is quite dim in the rooms. big breakfast with lots of choice, groceries next door and the hotel is very centrally located so walking distance to everything including hire car. would stay again.

Diasppointed

Although we had booked trinity capital 3 weeks in advance, we were advised on arrival that their computer systen was "down" and that they were overbooked that evening. alternative 4 star accommodation was offered but it was much more austere than that at tc. reason didn't seem too convincing as others arriving after us appeared to be booked in without difficulty.

Lovely hotel

I really loved my stay at the trinity capital. very friendly staff and a fantastic location. i stayed in a courtyard room (i had read a previous review which recommended them) and it was beautiful - modern, clean, with a very nicely appointed bathroom. decent breakfast too.

Special birthday in dublin

I'm loath to overstate how much we enjoyed our stay at trinity capital to celebrate my wife's xxth birthday in case we can't get in next time we visit dublin ! however, what a great find. superb location, 'quirky' décor, friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable and quiet rooms, despite being next to the fire station. no dublin call outs when we were there and help immediately on hand should there be a fire in the hotel.....

Would definately stay here again

The airport bus dropped us off very close to hotel and it turned out to be really central. we had two rooms, one at the back overlooking the firestation and one overlooking the main road at the front. yes, at the back, you can hear a generator running all the time but it didn't bother us at all. the only complaint we had in the back room was the temperature (really hot or freezing) and poor pressure in the shower. other than that, we couldn't fault anything about the hotel and there's so much to look at, it's quite amazing.

Great hotel, great location

Stayed 3 nights - 23 / 25 june 2008. 4 family males age range 27 to 86. initially intended to have a weekend break but having read previous reviews of noise and crowding at weekends went for monday/thursday instead. inspired choice. still plenty of atmosphere in the evening in the bars and restaurants. hotel with rooms facing the fire station at the rear was in an ideal position and extremely quiet, just a pity about the heat. otherwise could not fault the hotel and would definitely reconsider if ever returning to dublin.

Very central hotel

we had a very nice stay in dublin and this hotel was well situated. we were a little concerned at the proximity of the fire station but we weren't disturbed at all by any noise. due to the fact that refurbishment was taking place, the evening meals were not very good but the breakfast was perfect. a very good selection of hot and cold buffet style food and plenty of tea!! our room was in the courtyard section and while it was very quiet we were disappointed at the lack of hanging space (only about 18" behind the bed) and complete lack of drawers. we were advised to request a 'trinity room' at the back in future! lighting in reception and lounge areas could be improved.

Watch the bedroom allocation!!

We were allocated two double rooms at the front of the hotel looking out on to a very busy main road. the rooms were basic, noisy and the bathrooms covered with mildew residue stains. these were the 'trinity rooms' avoid and ask for the newer 'courtyard rooms' which are very clean and modern. the rest of the hotel was really good, great breakfast comfortable surroundings. unfortunatley staff came from all over the eastern part of europe and could hardly be understood with bar staff not knowing how to make basic coktails!!!
