Weekend stay

Have read some bad reviews for this hotel but these seem to relate to its refurbishment or before. we have stayed in travelodges before and i must say this is the best so far. everything was clean and fresh. the staff at the reception desk could not have been better and are a credit to the hotel. the road outside can be noisey but with the windows shut you can't hear anything. we did not need the windows open as the air conditioning worked well. it was over 30 degc outside but we had the sensor set to 18 degc which made the room pleasant and not too hot for sleeping. bathrooms are quite small, one person at a time but more than adequate with a bath with shower over, toilet and handbasin. beds were very comfortable and we had two good night sleep. breakfast was basic but ok, it seemed to have something for everybody. the only gripe we had was on returning to the bar after a night out, service was very slow. seems that the person operating the bar also prepares any snacks that people order. the reception desk staff usually assist but on this occassion they were tied up sorting out a problem with another customers booking. we could forgive the long wait as they were doing their best. easy walking distance to the city centre. overall a very good experience and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Good hotel great location

This hotel is a 10-15 minute walk away from kings cross and st pancras and tube links all over the city. the rooms have been refurbished but it is not as new as other travelodge hotels like waterloo and moorgate. in high summer the rooms get very hot and there is no air conditioning. the staff are very friendly.

Great tranport links

This is a good hotel near to the transport hub of kings cross and st pancras. there is a also a bus stop nearby. it is located in ia quiet area although the main road can be noisy so you may want to ask for a room at the back. the beds are very comfortable. this hotel makes an excellent base for those on a budget.

Beware summer bookings!

The farringdon travelodge is well placed for transport links around the capital and is near to shops and some good restaurants and takeaways. it is a good basic hotel to use as a base. beware though that it can get very hot in the summer as there is no air conditioning.

Good hotel well connected!

Travelodge farringdon is an excellent hotel to use as a base to explore london. it is a 15 minute walk from euston and a 10 minute walk to st pancras and kings cross. all the major tube lines converge on kings cross. there are sainsbury's and tesco supermarkets within a 10 minute walk and there are some good takeaway food outlets. the hotel is great value and the staff are very friendly.

Good value great location

This a great value hotel that is well situated for the main transport hub of kings cross/st pancras. if you want a quiet room ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. the main road can be noisy. an ideal hotel to use as a base for exploring london.

Good hotel friendly staff

This is a good travelodge hotel. it looks like travelodge took it over from another chain and the rooms have recently been refurbished with the new comfortable beds. this hotel always offers good value and is ideal for people who want to use the hotel as a base and be out as much as possible. it is close to the transport hub of kings cross and st pancras and there are bus stops outside. there is a tesco 10 minutes walk away and some good takeaways and restaurants nearby. the best being sen viet about 5 minutes walk away. you can buy takeaway there too.

Excellently located hotel

The travelodge farringdon is ideally located 10 minutes from kings cross and st pancras transport hub. here you can take the tube anywhere in the city as most major lines converge here. the rooms are large and the hotel is good value. it may not be state of the art in terms of décor but you will not be staying there to look at the walls. there is an excellent vietnamese takeaway nearby and tesco is only a 10 minute walk away. the staff are also friendly.

Basic but clean

Basic small single room but clean and fine for an overnight stay for work. room was very hot and window didn't open. bathroom very tiny but had everything i needed. bed and pillows were comfortable though. i thought it was a little pricey but i think that's because it's in london.

Good hotel to use as a base for exploring london

This is an excellent hotel to use as a base t explore london. it is 10 minutes from kings cross and st pancras stations and the tube. here you can travel on the northern victoria and piccadilly lines so can access london easily. the rooms are large and warm if a little dated but you will not be in them long if you are travelling around london or going to see a show. the staff are friendly and there is a good vietnamese restaurant nearby that does take away. if you are looking to stay in the rooms for long periods then this is not for you. if you are looking to use the room as a base to sleep and shower in then it is ideal. the price is right too.

Ok for 1 night

The hotel room was very tatty and the hating was on full blast so we were roasting. tiles off the walls in the bathroom and you wouldn't want to walk on the carpet barefoot. breakfast was a bunfight (10am sunday) with no glasses, cups or cutlery and a long wait for them to be delivered. food ok. but the sheet and towels were clear so ok for one night.

Not a usual travelodge

I think this hotel was an acquisition by travelodge and the rooms were probably being refurbished. unfortunately, our room needed this to be done. the bathroom was badly in need of being updated. the bed's duvet was too thin for this time of year and the pillows were also too thin.

Travelodge farringdon

Room, staff and service were all okay, i had no issues with any of that. my only problem is that i stayed there for four nights and on the 4th night, at approx. 8:30pm whilst in my room, someone tried to gain access to my room using a master key. luckily i had double locked the door so they were unsuccessful. whilst they were trying to get in i looked through the spyhole and saw that it was a member of staff who had served me for dinner. i contacted the police who advised me to speak to reception, which i did. after about 15 minutes of reception (who told me they were the only ones with a master key) denying that anyone had been up to the rooms with the master key, i then told the receptionist that i saw who tried to get in. he then admitted that he had given the master key to that member of staff to go to another room - apparently transposing the last two numbers of the room. i wrote to travelodge through their comments page on the their website, but to date have not yet had a response from them. apart from that though, it is a travelodge, it served a purpose and the rooms are comfortable and clean. if you are wanting luxury, then obviously you wouldn't book a travelodge in the first place.

Travelodge london faringdon

The accommodation is basic but fine for 1 night. this particular travelodge appears to be in need of updating/refurbishing to bring in line with standards at other sites such as euston travelodge.

Reasonable hotel for the price

Hotel was fine. clean and room quite spacious. breakfast was good - help yourself buffet plenty of hot or cold choices. hotel not that convenient, about 10-15 min walk to tube either kings cross or farringdon-similar distance. quite noisy if you are at front of hotel, but if stay at back facing car park, apparently it's quite quiet. only real negative was that our bed felt like the bottom had fallen out of it!!!

London break

Two young brothers let loose in london. we had a show booked on had a great time joining the tourists of london. the reception was not helpful in fact down right rude! the bar was unmanned and we went to one outside instead. what's that about!! the toilet was on strike. or at least it had an attitude problem. would flush only if it was in the mood.

Mediocre experience

no mention was made of not being able to book in untill 3pm--that left me with 5 hours to fill--after the ship docked early. i didn't need to know that i could tune in to dodgy "adult" channels on the tv. the bar was way overpriced--god knows what impression that gives to foreign tourists. no info on local area,no info on breakfast times,(and breakfast wasn't up to much either) the hotel was clean and otherwise reasonably efficient.

Does a job

I have to stay in london overnight a lot due to work. i work for a charity, and we need to keep our costs down, so we tend to use travelodges. i have had terrible trouble with some - including the infamous bumping (as shown on bbc's watchdog). however, although this particular travelodge is a bit down at heal, i've never had any of the problems i've had elsewhere, staff are reasonably friendly, and they even manage to provide an iron. so, if you're looking for a no-frills room for the night, this is a safe bet at a good price.
