Great hotel in between two tube stations

This is a good hotel that used to be the hq of singer sewing machines. the rooms are spacious and well appointed. the hotel is near old street and moorgate tube stations and it is a 10 minute walk to liverpool st. the liverpool university base in london is 2 minutes away in finsbury square. the barbican arts centre is a 10 minute walk away. there is a tesco and sainsbury's nearby and a waitrose 10 minutes walk away though bunhill fields burial ground which is a fascinating space and good if you like squirrels.

Great location but poor quality

Location and cost wise this hotel works well. unfortunately it looks old and worn with no air conditioning making the rooms ridiculously hot even though the over night temperature was not that high. the carpets both in the room and in the corridor outside on the 6th floor were stained by i have no idea what but i do not believe that they could not have been cleaned. staff in reception and at breakfast were all far better than their surroundings

Great hotel good location

This is a good hotel with good transport links from two equi-distant tube stations. they are old street or moorgate. liverpool street station is a 10 minute walk away. there is a bus stop outside for buses to the city centre. the barbican is a 10 minute walk away. there is also a tesco next door, a sainsbury's by old street tube station and a waitrose in whitecross street a 10 minute walk away. the hotel has excellent size rooms with comfortable beds. the staff are very friendly. there are also samsung hd flat screen televisions.

London treat

Very enjoyable visit, front of house staff were pleasant and helpful. the rooms were better than i expected, they were clean, modern and catered for all my needs on such a brief stay. breakfast selection was good and again the staff were pleasant. would definitely use again.

Ladies weekend

there was a little bit of confusion with our booking but this was quickly sorted out. the hotel was in good walking distance of everywhere we wanted to visit, it was clean and good value for money - we did book at a discounted rate. the breakfast was excellent with a good choice which would suit everyone's taste. all in all a very good choice.

Another good stay

This hotel is convenient for our needs. we have used it before and will certainly do so again. rooms and restaurant are fine for a budget hotel and the new travelodge beds are comfortable.

Value for money

Decent clean hotel - helpful, friendly staff - comfortable bed, good shower - just what you want for a hectic few days in the city. overall it offers good value for money. ask for a room at the back for a quiet night away from any traffic on city road

Clean with good breakfast

The hotel is has recently been renovated and therefore is clean and in good repair. everything worked as it should. the breakfast was plentiful and included cereal, fruit, croissants and full english. a bargain. the hotel was a bit hot on our stay and therefore disrupted sleep. the window opened up on to an enclosed roofspace that did not offer good ventilation.

Great location

We were in london for my husband's birthday bash with his work colleagues and this hotel was great for us as it was within walking distance of the venue and the tube. the hotel is basic but the bed linen was very clean and so was the bathroom. the price was fantastic for london b & b.

Convenient and easy

Travelling on my own meant that i didn't need anything fancy. i simply needed to be close to the venue i was attending and pay as little as possible. this is exactly what i got, my room was very basic, but clean and being on the 6th floor meant i didn't hear a whisper and slept like a baby. the view from my view was awful, but i pulled the blind down and it didn't bother me.

Good value

A well located hotel good priced hotel with a fantastic breakfast and good onsite eatery. the only complaint we have is that there are no hairdryers in the rooms and you have to borrow a hair dryer, limited to an hour, from reception.

City road travelodge

This hotel is well situated fro moorgate tube station which is 5 monutes away. it is also on night bus n76. it is a good hotel the rooms are big & clean. it is an ideal hotel if you are just using it to sleep store your clothes & shower etc. it's a bit sterile to be hanging around in. check in is not until 3pm so do not turn up early & expect a room unless you want to pay £10 extra. there is no luggage store so forget about leaving your cases. this is very poor. staff take notice of the do not disturb & a over running cistern was fixed very quickly. the hotel was well riced as well.
