Travelodge bath - a critique

As a cheap hotel travelodge provide a barely adequate service. because it was likely that my business would over-run i booked a second night. i asked and was told tha the rate would be the same. the second morning i asked for breakfast vouchers, which had been included in the price for the first night, and was asked for an additional £15.00. i was not amused. breakfast service was appalling. both mornings we had to wait to be seated. the second morning i asked for more grapefruit, which had still not arrived by the time we leaft the breakfaast room. several items of cutlery and crockery were dirty and the napkins provided were just pieces torn off a kitchen roll. on the two occasions i visited reception i was kept waiting. overall i was not impressed and would not recommend anyone to stay there.

Basic but nice

A nice hotel, very basic in all area's. most of the things you'd expect to have in your room have to be requested from reception(shampoo, hairdryer, extra pillow etc) but at no extra cost. hotel was hard to find, mainly because when we booked it was not called travelodge and no one thought to inform us of this. breakfast was included in price and had a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks which you could help yourself to, otherwise a whopping £7.50 extra each tho if not included in your stay.

Better than expected

I read the other reviews just before we stayed in waterside and was very scared that it would turn out badly. surprisingly, the room is very clean, it seems like they have repainted the building recently. the services we had from the reception was very good too, the staff give us a room with good view face to the water and she even ensure me and my girl friend are stay in a double room but not twin. the only thing i have to point out is they forgot to bring our breakfast in our room despite their promising, as their cafe is temporary shut, i had to run all the way to the reception to get it! in sum, i would recommend it but check how much you are paying - £68 is reasonable but not £130!
