Thistle hotel in london euston - review (feb 2009)
Reception good, nice staff and a modern feel. restaurant equally nice, with modern feel and comfy seating. breakfast ok with plenty of chioce and a 'help yourself to whatever' atmosphere (fruit, cereal, bacon, sausage and the full works) staff are great and always on hand to offer more tea or coffee and toast. rooms are a little on the smaller side, but tidy, modern, with flat screen lcd tv.... and ok bathroom being a decent size (if the bathroom wanting a little tlc in places, such as around the bath tapes needing a better scrub down) overall - a decent place to stay. location great especially if you arrive on at euston train station, as literally two minutes down cardington road. also close to oxford street (10 min walk) and all the major city centre sites (all about a 10 to 20 min stole away) the only negative point of view was the check out time. the hotel literature states 12 noon, but the room service team, was eager for us to 'depart' by 11. we felt a little pushed out of the door, and made a comment to reception to reflect that. they were obviously too keen to turn the room around for more guests.
