Very impressive

My first visit to leeds and indeed the metropole. on arrival to a very impressive and grand entrance i was warmly greeted by a receptionist who adopted a very simplified check in process. on arrival to my room i was pleasantly impressed with the decor, cleanliness and atmosphere of my room. i quickly settled into my space. my colleagues whom i had travelled to leeds with stayed in alternate hotel and were quite jealous when they came to meet me in the evening for dinner. as my stay was a bank holiday weekend, there were a lot of formal activities taking place within the met function rooms ie weddings, graduations, etc whilst my room was on the third floor i was not negatively impacted by this events in fact participant from these events invited me to join in with there celebrations. very comfortable sleep with adequate heating/ventilation. i would definitely stay again. thank you met!

Good hotel

The metropole was a good hotel, with helpful staff and comfortable rooms. it also had a smart bar. we would stay again.

Colour dreary

i had good service throughout and i was changed to a larger, brighter room when i asked,(same colour but more windows) as the first room was small and dark. the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and in a good location. near the station (a bit hard to find) and a few minutes from shops. my only problem was the colours painted throughout the hotel was a variation on mushroom and very, very dull and depressing. if you like mushroom as a colour it would be fabulous. i wonderd if they had had a job lot of paint? the designer needs to be given treatment for depression i think!

February 2010

Stayed saturday night in cold weather. room clean, had to switch heating on in room when arrived as chilly, also find switch in bedroom for bathroom towel rail, bathroom cold. bath not clean, black fungus round soap holder and on shower curtain, not a four star experience. staff friendly. breakfast good; cereal bowls dirty; milk jug was really filthy inside and had not seen any hot water for a while. had dinner in restaurant which was overpriced, cold and poor service (warm white wine came after the starter when i complained!). not normally picky but this was an amateur experience.

Relaxing and very good value

I can thoroughly recommend the met, leeds. i have always found the staff helpful, the breakfast and restaurant happy and relaxing, the rooms very well appointed, and the room service very welcome. the car parking facilities are limited, but so far i haven't been displaced to the station.
