Granny and granddaughter trip

Booked the arden as attending the horse of the year show. wanted to relax after a three and half hour train ride and boy did we strike lucky. the spar was empty and we swam,sauna,steam room and jacuzzied for a good hour. hungry after swimming we called into the bar for a snack....cheese, ham and bean toast i.e. and a bowl of chips for my granddaughter. the staff in the hotel were excellent. i was well pleased with our choice of hotel being a ten min walk or a five pound taxi ride away from nec

Great hotel for a visut to the nec

Found this hotel very comfortable, with easy access to the nec, the staff were very helpful and explained how to walk there and it would take about 15 minutes. our only regret was in not ordering a bar meal before our visit to the arena as it was so busy there with very little seating, it would of been so much easier to have eaten in the hotel first and the food did look very good, but will know for our next visit. breakfast was buffet style and plenty of choice. a bonus was the free car parking for hotel guests with plenty of room in the car park.

Poor standard of room cleanliness

When i arrived there was human hair on the table below the mirror, one of the cups & one of the glasses had marks on them. the next day when i returned to my room there was a human hair in one of the cups. i mentioned it to the staff member who bought my room service who said he would take it to reception. when i spoke to reception that evening they said i should speak to the duty manager the next morning, which i duly did. not impressed.

My stay

The hotel has a very clean impressive looking reception. the carpets in the landings and rooms were worn out and could do with renewing there was also sofas on the landings that were well past there best. the food in the bar was good but not a huge selection, all the staff were very pleasant. the price was reasonably considering how close it is to the nec, airport and train station.
