Fair stay

Stayed for 5 nights. room was of usual standard, bit battered around the edges. one of the plug sockets was faulty. they must have known about it as there was a four plug extension in the room. breakfast was not as good as normal. may be petty but the bacon was very fatty and the orange juice well was just weak flavoured water. it used to be the best juice around and i used to look forward to breakfast but only had it once. i will stay again as the location is good for me.

Tara towers

Stayed in tara towers hotels for 5 nights in the past week, hotel was chosen for its location close to ucd. everything is fairly basic in the hotel as i always believe you get what you pay for. transport links are fairly good as dart station about 10 mins walk away and bus also close.

Good value for a relatively expensive city

Good value for money. clean rooms, 5-10 minute bus ride into the city centre. breakfasts are pretty average but no worse than what i have experienced at other places.

Staying at tara towers

Stayed at tara towers for 3 nights while sight seeing ireland. when first seeing the hotel from the outside we did get a bit worried, but once inside the hotel is great. the rooms are big, clean and welcoming and have all the facilities you will need. the bar and restaurant serve great food, and the breakfast is amazing (and buffet style!). all the staff were very helpful and friendly. it is also near the bus stop and trainline. the train into dublin cost 1.80euro each way, and the bus is a similar price, they also run quite late upto about 12o'clock which is useful! at the weekend there was great entertainment in the bar and a good atmosphere!! only down sides are there are not many bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. although the hotel had a bar it was expensive like all bars in ireland! also the shower in our room seemed to be designed for people only 4ft tall, you literally have to kneel underneath it. apart from that a great stay and would stay there again!!!

Tara towers

Hotel is ok for basic hotels. breakfast is rubbish and just glad was in the price as would be disappointed if had to pay for this. rooms were ok but need an update and i wish the hotel would clean there windows. the bar is alright and the bar food was of good quality and not too over priced. was at concert in rds and is a good 30 min walk but there is a bus stop just outside the hotel

Nice

The reception, bar and resturant in this hotel were lovely the staff were very nice and helpful. breakfast was good. the only down fall was the rooms they are deffinately in need of some attention our room was like a sauna as the sun shone in it all day which would have been lovely with air con! the beds had just blanketts no valance on the base and we could see damp coming down the walls beside the windows which was also on the curtains! our view was a building site and the hotel generator was below us. this hotel is just outside the centre of dublin (a short ride on the dart) beautiful location. alot of elderly people stay at this hotel. i would think about going back if the dreary bedrooms were updated.

The tara towers, dublin

The tara towers is a tall, fairly modern concrete building which is not particularly attractive fro the outside. it has six floors which are served both by stairs and a pair of lifts making it easy to get to any floor even for the unfit, infirm or elderly. it has its own car park with adequate parking for both cars and coaches but even if the car is full the surrounding side streets have unrestricted parking. rooms are well maintained and a good size. the bathroom and toilet was large with a bath equipped with shower. from the upper floors the hotel has a open view towards the sea on one side and inland towards dublin university on the other. the surrounding area is undergoing considerable development so at present some areas are building sites but the noise from all the activity there is not intrusive. the hotel has its own restaurant and a warm and welcoming bar. there is also a sitting area near reception. cannot comment on the quality of the evening meals but the buffet style breakfast was excellent with enough choice to suit all tastes. staff are all friendly and helpful. the hotel is a little far from the city centre for a comfortable walk in. however there is a bus stop just outside and it is within a few minutes walk of booterstown dart station.
