Questionable service

Great hotel, fab food and plenty of it - non-stop hot drinks, soft drinks and alcohol available throughout the day. poolside is lovely and rooms are fine, if a little dated. we didn't use the entertainment lounge but stayed in the piano bar, which because it was summer was using an outside terrace set amongst palm trees and exotic plants - very nice atmosphere. unfortunately the one thing that let it down were the staff, particularly at the bar, there were too few of them meaning long waits to get served and no friendliness - we stood for a long time to be served and watched as the barman kept serving new people who had approached the bar - we asked to be served only to be told the bit of the bar we were stood at wasn't where he was serving - apparently we were two feet outside this limit and despite seeing us standing there for a long time he chose to ignore us - how would we know and when challenged he was very rude - we complained to the bar manager (based in the half board hotel adjacent) who was not happy with him. service in the half board hotel was much better - but then they had more staff as they were charging for drinks. so, overall, great place but let down because they seem to think all-inclusive guests should receive a poorer service...could have been a real five star experience otherwise.
