Discover Basel

Basel is a major city in Switzerland with around 170,000 inhabitants, is the third largest city in Switzerland after Zurich and Geneva. It is the capital of the Canton of Basel. The city is located in north-western Switzerland, along the Rhine river witch borders with France and Germany, Basel is an important industrial center in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It is the last river port accessible to large vessels.

It is the home to the oldest university (1460). The city is also famous for its carnival, for the manifestation of contemporary art "Art Basel" and "BaselWorld" the most important exhibition of watches and precious in the world.
