I overnighted in pisa to facilitate a very early flight.i didn't think this hotel deserved a three-star status. being a converted convent, i expected simplicity - not poor quality (with the exception of the en-suite shower room which was excellent). the building looked run-down and neglected. i decided to have my evening meal there (reception had mentioned a bar/restaurant). it was, in fact, no more than a snack-bar with very poor quality food at the kind of prices i had been paying in michelin-star restaurants in other parts of tuscany. very disappointing. my alarm call did not work but fortunately i had backed-up on my mobile, otherwise i would have missed my flight. i would not consider staying there again and would not recommend it to anyone.
