Lovely days in pisa!

This hotel is an old beautiful palace with an interesting history. see wikipedia. we loved everything! best location, very helpful staff, full breakfast (bug no eggs), nice room (hard pillow). don´t miss to buy some beers and sit on the wall by the river outside the hotel in the evening, together wit all the young people :)

Wonderful historical hotel but staff service was lagging

To arrive to the hotel was a great surprise, the old historical atmosphere was significant and sent us directly on a journey to old times. the staff was friendly and smiling however the service held off in any matter. no wifi. no promised early breakfast served. no cleaning in the room. no pre ordered taxi when we absolutely needed it. no mercy for leaving us in the storm waiting for the bus. a pity end for a nice visit in pisa.

Perfect

Just what we like to see in a hotel. a little bit of faded grandeur, spacious rooms with a view on the river arno, nice old furniture but good matrasses and clean linnen, no superfluous luxury and very nice english speaking staff.

Lost glory

Location is great, a very short walk straight down from the main railway station, but also the minimum charge with a taxi if you are tired/with heavy luggage. however, the student union next door attracts young people to sit on the river arno bank late at night and the heavy traffic keeps you up, too. sound proofing and pipes are original, i guess. staff should come to help you with the room key first time, because you won't manage it yourself. reception staff very helpful, but the town map has been copied since the time of telefax and is illegible. first the bathroom light was broken and once after no.2 the toilet lid had been closed, but the toilet not cleaned - very unpleasant after a +40c day. cannot keep the bathroom window open because of pigeons. the same african boy seems to do all the serving jobs, an asian girl at the reception and a russian(?) lady working at the breakfast kitchen alone - saving on staff? but, there is certain character at the hotel that cannot be created - it just is there, but in a slightly sad, lost world way.

Old fashioned hotel in central pisa

We had a very nice stay in the royal victoria. it is a old romantic hotel on the river, which is in the center of the city. we had airconditioning in the room (which is really necessary in the summer) and everything looked very decent. a few days later (on our return) we were in another room and there the bed was a bit old, with an old crooked mattres. but in the end the price was good and there was a very nice breakfast buffet.
