Great hotel

My wife and i stayed at the hotel regno in july 2012. on our first day in rome my wife tripped on the pavement near the trevi fountain which resulted in both a fractured ankle & elbow. when we returned to the hotel staff on the reception desk were truly amazing. they offered the use of a wheelchair and without asking changed our room for one which was nearer the lift. over the next few days they were extremely helpful with advice and language translations for many activities which included hospital visits, medication, phone calls and faxes. the hotel is right in the centre of the city easy walking to trevi fountain, spanish steps, pantheon etc. buses stop outside, metro just around the corner. they cater for families. room very clean. breakfast is continental but plenty of choice. cafe/takeaway just next door if you fancy a snack. will go back.

Hotel regno june 2012

Easy to book online with hotelsclick.com. booking was confirmed straight away and a few weeks prior to the trip i checked directly with the hotel (just in case) and everything was ok. great central position to walk to all the popular sites. pleasant helpful staff. breakfast was ok only slight niggle is it says bed and hot buffet brakfast. but you had to pay extra for bacon sausage and egg. even had to pay for a boiled egg!!? so the only hot buffet items included in the price was coffee/tea and toast. we requested a quiet room and got one as street side can be noisy low down. we were put on the forth floor at the back, quiet but no view. overall a pleasant stay. would recommend for position and would be perfect with 'all inclusive' breakfast the type we had in a holiday inn the week before. also shame there's no bar open in the hotel to finish the day in.

Location, location, location!

I have stayed at this hotel six times so far and it cannot not beaten for location. trevi less than 3 minutes away, pantheon 5 minutes and piazza navona 10 minutes. buses from piazza venetia to most places 10 minutes away plus various buses stopping along via del corso. a short walk to the forum and colosseum. because of the location you are able to call back during the day to rest up, change shoes or whatever and carry on with your sightseeing without feeling you've had to go miles back to your hotel. the staff are very helpful especially gabriel one of the receptionists (not sure of the italian spelling of his name). rooms can be on the small side but this is an old building and is only to be expected but have everything you need. public areas are small but as you have the whole of rome outside that is not a problem! breakfast is the usual continental fare but plenty of it. i would always stay here on any future trip to rome.

A satisfactory visit

They did try to put us in 2 different sub standard rooms first even though they were not full room service often omitted to restock the room each morning-bath towels, tooth beakers but plenty of shower caps! sho cleaning would have been nice and a plug near the dressing table for hair arrangement but we like the regno

Location location location!

We stayed at the hotel regno for 3 nights at the end of october 2010 and were delighted with the place. the room was plenty big enough, quadruple-glazed to keep it silent even though it overlooked the main street, and well equipped. the best bit? the location. this was our first visit to rome - imagine finding yourself 2 minutes from the trevi fountain, 10 from the spanish steps, 15 from the colosseum, and surrounded by shoe shops (my wife's delight...). thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic location

We chose the hotel regno because it had been recommended to us by a friend and we are very glad to have had the recommendation because the location could not have been better and our room was perfect. the hotel was extremely clean and all seemed efficient. my only reservation was that the staff were not as friendly as in other italian hotels where we have stayed. despite this i would stay at the regno again without hesitation. the central location saved us so much unecessary walking time.
