One night spent with family and friends for a concert at the barrowlands

We called ahead to check in early and they said they might have our rooms ready at 12pm but when we got there no rooms were available until 2pm which was fine as they had a lounge bar we could wait for a couple of hours. the bar and restaurant were actually closed which was a bit disappointing but again we were still fine. only one room was available at 2pm so four of us got in one room as they said it would be 15 mins for the other room so we had a drink and waited. nearly 1 and a half hours later we managed to get the other room, the 4 of us just wasted the whole afternoon so we had to get ready for the concert in one room before we got the key for the second one. the staff at reception were very nice and apologetic though and gave us all a free breakfast which made up for the inconvenience. i would still us this hotel again since they went out their way to help.

Good value, friendly staff

The location is brilliant: very close to saucihall street and right beside a railway station that allows easy travel to edinburgh and elsewhere. the hotel is spotlessly clean, and everything in the room and bathroom was (as ever) 'up to scratch'. for me the biggest plus is the friendliness of the staff. cheery and considerate. they were tested the night i stayed as the going off of a fire alarm meant a total evacuation of the building. the staff member overseeing the evacuation was cheery without slipping into a form of the 'dunkirk spirit' - a nice balance of understanding that we won't be smiling and encouraging us to do precisely that ... and she succeeded. brilliant handling. the only downside of the hotel is the problem for those with disabilities if there is an evacuation, but it is hardly unique in that respect. i shall be back to the premier inn, charing cross , again and again and again. simply excellent.

Worth staying instead of at *star hotel

Stayed in a single room. prefer a double bed as used to that. clean and decoration satisfactory. service at desk was efficient. breakfast fresh and adequate and pleased it was included in price. didn't eat in restaurant. for one night as in glasgow it served the purpose and would use again if had business in that area again. value for money and to be reccommended. ifg you want 4* then go for one if not use this as some 3* can be very dodgy.

Suits our budget

Very reasonable price (£59) for our overnight stay, for a party on sauchiehall street, so location ideal. bonus was getting breakfast included. i.e. a further saving of £15!! reception helpful, room basic but, no grounds for complaint.
