Rooms are spacious with some silk embroidery panels. A number of rooms also have verandas with very commanding views.
Restaurant
Serves local dishes, such as carneiro a moda de forno de algodres (lamb in red wine), bacalhau a beira alta (salted cod fish), bifes de presunto a moda da beira (smoked ham), lingua de vitela a beira (casseroled veal). The restaurant also offers good flambe dishes. This Fortaleza de Almeida also has a very accomplished pastry chef. The wines form nearby pinhel are very good and should be sampled.
