Great little hotel in fantastic location

Hotel is set in a quiet little square, lovely location, safe, cafes, bars and shops nearby and 2 tube stations within a couple of minutes walk. and only a couple of minutes walk to kensington gardens. the hotel itself is a little gem. communal areas all recently refurbished and better than more 3 star hotels. rooms a bit more basic than luxury but still have everything you need, clean, comfy bed, wardrobe, desk, a free hairdryer that actually has some power and nice clean and relatively new bathrooms. continental breakfast has lots of choice and more than enough to set you up for the day. wpuld definately return here!

Brilliant for the price!

This hotel is in a great location with 2 tube stops near by. the hotel itself was extremelyclean with well kept decor. the room and facilities were excellent for the price. my room was very quiet at night.

Spotlessly clean hotel

The phoenix hotel is a very clean, comfortable hotel in a good location for central london. it is within easy reach of 2 tube statiions and within a short stroll to kensington gardens. the service was very good and we had no complaints with anything. the continental breakfast is sufficient although the breakfast room is slightly cramped, the bedroom was a good size and the bathroom clean and well equiped. would deffintaely re visit the phoenix

Third visit to phoenix hotel

Another good visit. after one night in small twin (?102) we were happy to be moved to our usual twin room - 402 - top floor, at end of (narrow)corridor & quiet. it was great to be back !! breakfast still a bit squashed. at weekends, get down to breakfast and then have showers afterwards, unless you want to wait for a table !! staff (in reception & dining room) were as pleasant as always. good value in very convenient location - especially with hotel click (not my usual supplier but could be from now on!). opposite whiteley's shopping centre (almost adjacent) is a tesco metro - great for late night snacks & picking up a meal deal (sandwich, crisps & drink) for picnic lunch.

Slightly disappointed

We were told on arrival that someone had cancelled our room and that there was only one room left.as i had read some reviews i asked where the room was and was told it was in the basement so my heart sank.the room was tiny and absolutely reeked of cigarettes.we slept with window open but still our things smelled musty in the morning.we were moved as promised to a room on the top floor which was lovely, but as this was our last night we felt that the break was spoiled slightly.the rooms are spotless and the breakfast plentiful and varied.i asked my husband if we would use this hotel again but he said no.

Short stay at the phoenix

Great location. reception staff efficient but miserable. foyer and public rooms pleasant - didn't try the bar but looked fine. good breakfast but had to queue and didn't restock things that had run out on the sunday morning rush. narrowest corridors we have ever seen upstairs - tiny shower room and the double bed pushed up against the wall in the corner - never seen that before in a hotel. okay for a weekend in london though.

Clean convienient budget hotel

This hotel is in a great location for tourists and shoppers. impressive from outside but not so good inside. staff were friendly but had difficulty with english. my room was a family one with 4 beds but it lacked a long mirror. also lacked bussiness facilities with vertually no plugs or place to work. i would like to see the hotel be more environmnetal and offer to not wash towls every day or to throw away the soap each day. i would ile to see sihns to a useable staircase as the one very small and slow lift to all floors was tedious in the mornings especially. a good choice on a budget but not if you want to work.
