Discover Bohol Island
Bohol is a province of the Philippines. Its territory corresponds with that of the island of Bohol and 75 small neighboring islands and is located between the islands of Cebu, Leyte and Mindanao in the region of Central Visayas. The provincial capital is Tagbilaran. As in the Philippines, most of the inhabitants are Catholics, it is likely that a substantial part of the population of Bohol were Muslims before the conquest in 1565 from Spain.In the archipelago there are three distinct seasons: the rainy season from mid-May to November, and two dry seasons, the fresh and dry season from December to February and the hot season from March to May, so the best time to visit the province of Bohol is from December to about magus. Besides the beauty of the Loboc River, a unique attraction in this area is represented by the Chocolate Hills, "Chocolate Hills", an unusual geological formation consists of 1268 cone-shaped limestone hills whose height varies between 40 and 120 meters. It is spread over an area of more than 50 km ² and are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, from which it derives its name. The historic monastery the Fuerza Punta Cruz in Maribojoc and Filipinos are the oldest buildings of the Spanish colonial period. The two candidates have Filippione attractions for the deli UNESCO World Heritage list: the church of St. Peter and of the paintings in the Anda peninsula that show traces of human life in the prehistoric period.
The attractions are easily reached via a road network constantly improved. Along the way, visitors often stop on the beaches and coral reef of Panglao Iceland. Here you can go diving and enjoy the spectacle of the marine environment. The other tourist areas sleep Cebu, Boracay and Puerta Galera.
