Gulf coast vs golden coast

I have spent 15 years on florida's gold coast without ever having visited the east coast and have always been told that its far nicer than the west! and it is! crystal blue waters, golden sands and better fishing! we spent a week at the hilton clearwater beach june 13 to 20th. it was great! the bathroom is small but other than that everything was good. the room was clean, pool was great, the poolside bar drinks were a little over priced but the food was a good value. our room had a good view of the ocean, beach, marina and the south side of the city of cwb. the staff could use some lessons on customer service. sometimes they were more like teenagers who "had to be there" than courteous, friendly, tripping over themselves to be helpful. it was not good that i had to pay $5 per day to self park but there was always a space. i think the hotel should include that fee in the basic room rate or make it known before arrival. however the positive's definately outweigh the negatives, the price for the beachfront location is actually brilliant and the comfy beds and relaxing atmosphere of the hilton is great. i would definately go back and definately tell my friends.
