We booked this hotel for an overnight stay in venice becuase of it's close proximity to the main square and cruise ship terminal. we booked it about 1 month before departure and on arrival at the hotel at 9.00pm at night with our hotel confirmation, we were informed that they were moving us to another hotel about 15 minutes walk away as they did not have any rooms left. they did order a water taxi to transfer us with our 4 suitcases and put us in another hotel (not a best western) where we were given a dismal room looking out at a brick wall, as it was by then so late we had no option but to take it. it ce3rtainly was not the upgrade they told us we would be given and was no where near the area we had selected. and we are best western members!! the receptionist was totally uninterested in out predicament and couldn't wait to get us out of the hotel as there were other guests waiting to check in. certainly will not be using this hotel (or the alternative we were given) again.
