Hot stay in amsterdam!!

the hotel was very average with poor customer service from the reception staff who were both unfriendly and abrupt in their manner. although i had pre-paid for a double room, we arrived at the hotel to be told they had no double rooms available. my wife and i stayed in a spacious twin room for the first night before moving to a very small double room on our second night. the hotel has no air conditioning, therefore the rooms were extremly hot and uncomfortable to sleep in at night, although on our 3rd night we discovered that the hotel would provide us with a fan. it would have been helpful to have been offered this by reception staff when checking in!! the hotel is not good value for money. on a positive note the buffet breakfast was excellent with the staff in the breakfast room extremely friendly and efficient. the location of the hotel is also fine.
