Excellent new year break

Millenium gloucester road was a very comfortable and convenient destination for new year. ideally located just two minutes from the tube, and only 3 stops from victoria, entering the hotel you get an immediate sense of luxury and calm. rooms are well equipped and comfortable, and breakfast offered a vast choice of dishes both hot and cold.

Nice

the hotel is lovely and it was very clean but there were a couple of issues which we felt that a 4 star hotel shouldn't have had. our rooms were on the second floor and they faced the kitchen area!!! which wasn't very quiet or very private, so movement of staff was heard as well as trolleys etc. the other issue was the lifts... it sounds petty but we waited for over 10 mins for a lift to arrive and they kept going past our floor to the floors above. its not like you can use the stairs we had trouble finding them and when we did because we got fed up with waiting they were definitely not 4 star quality no wonder they hid them away, seriously though this could be considered a fire danger as it wasn't easy to find them.

Good location, good price

Good quality hotel right next to tube and in walking distance of the kensington museums. checking in takes too long. why when we've given all our details to hotels click do we have to repeat them all for the hotel? after a long journey i don't want to stand at reception for 20mins. the hotel thought my friends' double room was booked for one with only breakfast for one initially! who's **** up? hotel's or hotelsclick's. breakfast was phenomenally busy and big queues built up. i avoided them but wouldn't have rated it so high if had been stuck in it. no muesli at breakfast!!

Enjoyable stay at the millennium gloucester hotel, kensington.

We were moved to this hotel from one nearer the city centre but it was only the difference of a couple of stops on the tube. the hotel was excellent value for a four star especially as it was mid term and valentine's night. the hotel was full but check in and out was speedy. our twin room was very clean and spacious and well furnished. the beds were very comfortable. we had tea and coffee in the room and a lovely, spotlessly clean bathroom. we called reception and a service engineer came promptly to sort the television for us. although i only paid for a continental breakfast, we had access to a full cooked breakfast all of which was fresh and beautifully cooked. the concierge stored our bags on our departure day. i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good staff service / noisy & stuffy room

The 1st floor room i was in was facing a busy road and the window was badly fitted or insulated, so you could hear not just the traffic noise but conversations from people in the street. it was hard to fall asleep. the room was smelling of dust from the carpet making it difficult to breathe properly throughout the night. i woke up with a stuffy nose. the staff at the reception (during check-in/out) was friendly and polite. the food served in the conservatory at the top was very good.

Great hotel in kensington!

I have stayed here on dozens of occasions and never been let down. this is a really great hotel right across the road from gloucester road tube so very handy for getting into to town. food & bar etc are also good. rooms are very comfortable and standards are as good as the hilton etc and good value if you can get a room and breakfast for under £150 inc vat for a double. would highkly recommend this hotel

Weekend away

The reception staffs were very curt and not very informative; we weren’t sure where we had to go for breakfast. the rooms was clean but very tired looking, dirty scuff marks on the walls, handle missing from the wardrobe doors and not able to shut them properly. the phone had lost all the numbers so we couldn’t call down in the morning to see where breakfast was being served. at breakfast i asked for earl grey and when it came up there were two tea bags in the pot and both the string and label were in the pot of water. the buffet was very limited if you had food allergies and was not very well stocked we had to ask for it to be refilled

Stay 6th-8thmarch well worth a visit!

My husband and i stayed at the millenium gloucester for 2 nights whilst meeting up with a family member. we were very impressed with the location of the hotel which is literally one minute from the tube- my husband has difficulty walking so this was great.we are retired. there are steps at the gloucester road tube but a lift to parially offset this. the hotel was excellent. we had a lovely quiet room with all facilities including towel dressing gowns and slippers besides the usual tea/coffee making faciliities, tv etc. the staff were friendly and courteous and really helpful. breakfast too was very good and catered for foreign tourists as well as the traditional english fayre. on shrove tuesday pancakes were provided in the late afternoon in the foyer by the chef free of charge. an excellent stay. we would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Valentines in london

We stayed at the millenium gloucester on valentines night. one of the few nights we get a year away from the kids. the hotel is very well situated within a couple of minutes of gloucester rd tube and a long but pleasent stroll along the compton road to the natural history and v & a museums. harrods, with it's amazing ice cream parlour is about 10 minutes further on but worth the effort! when we arrvied we were offered the chance to upgrade to a business club room for £20 which we were happy to do as we got to check in 2 hours earlier and had a bigger room and bed. the room was very comfortbale and generous in size. big tv, plenty of storage and lovely big bed. staff were really helpful and friendly. one warning, put the do not disturb light on before you go to bed as we had a maid come in at 8:30am which was a bit ridiculous. all in all, a very good hotel that, for the money, was great value.

Affordable comfort

Excellent hotel within a ideal area for touring london. the staff were friendly and professional the room was the basic but was well priced and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. the food, especially breakfast, was what you would expect from such a high class hotel and the parking next to the hotel was a big bonus although a tad expensive.

Great weekend, good hotel!!

On a visit to earls court chose this hotel for it's location. great location not only for earls court but other parts of london as well.underground on corner of road. took afternoon tea at humpreys bar in the hotel. after a fairly long wait tea arrived and we were not dissapointed.presentation was fantastic as was the food. the scones were the best! superb!! breakfast was also good with a good variety, just felt a little packed into our seats and far to close to the people on the next table! a great selection of resturants just outside the hotel, spoilt for choice! also a great selection of eateries within the hotel. kennsington gardens and hyde park are not far away. we spent a lovely spring morning wandering around both. all in all a great weekend break, bathrooms in the hotel need seriously updating. having said that found everywhere to be very clean. many thanks to hotelsclick.com for a smooth and easy booking have used you before and will do so again. ps check in/out- efficient and quick

Millennium hotel

I had stayed at the hotel earlier in the year, as a corporate guest and was impressed with the location and food quality.i therefore had no hesitation in booking in the summer for a 2 night leisure break with my 6 year old son.the location is fabulous, barely a 2 minute stroll from gloucester road tube station, with every amienity on the door step. it is within easy walking distance of the natural history, science and v and a museums. the bus stop for the open top bus tour is just across the road and tickets can be purchased from the hotel. the children were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and my son really loved his stay.

Very nice hotel, well presented. rooms were a little small but that was most likely because it was a twin rather than a double. staff were plesant. used the concierge service to book a reservation at one of the resturants, beware they tried to charge us for the call so a visit in person might be a better idea. the bombay brasserie was the resturant we went to, having eaten meals designed by them in the past. however the meal itslef was a slight let down, food was good but for the price was not in our opinion good enough.

Our great weekend in london.

We found the hotel very nice overall. the bed in the room was the most comfortable we have had in any hotel yet. good choice of food for breakfast. location was great for us, right across from gloucester rd tube, and ideal for the royal albert hall ( 20 min walk )as we were going to a concert there on the friday night. plenty of places to eat and drink close by. there is a tesco and a waitrose just around the corner.we are going down to london again later this year and would definitely consider booking this hotel again.

Millennium gloucester

We arrived at 11.45, even though check-in should not have been until 2.00. we were given a room immediately, which meant we could have a shower and get changed before we went to the theatre at 2.00. the foyer was lovely, and we were impressed with our room. everyone was very polite and friendly, and the hotel seemed very quiet, even though there were a lot of people staying. breakfast was fantastic - an excellent choice of hot and cold foods.
