Great break in the city
Stayed for 4 nights, although the interior of the hotel is dated, it has been kept in good order and is spotless. the reception staff are very professional and excellent in their roles. we booked a superior (double) room and although this was looking out over the railway line we were high enough on the 11th floor, for this not to be an issue. although the room was small it had a large bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. i did enquire about the cost of an upgrade, as this is advertised around the hotel and was told that there were no rooms available, so left it at that. the next morning reception rang and stated that a room had become available, was i interested? on enquiring about the cost i was told that this was a complimentary upgrade to an executive room, overlooking the internal courtyard of the hotel - what a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. this room was considerably much larger, including a seating area and full length picture windows. what a treat - thank you
