Stay in leon d’oro for 11 nights this summer, staff was very friendly & helpfull from the time i checked in to the time i checked out. breakfast each morning was very good (lots of choose and good quality food) . room was clean and of a good standard ………but showed some signs ware and tear in bathroom. location is around 15 minutes walk from the center of city (there is a major road to cross but ones you follow the predestrian walkway it is not a issue) .... so overall a good hotel but with some refits in the bathroom could make it a great hotel
The hotel itself is good, with an excellent breakfast and well furnished and spotlessly clean room. it is convenient for the railway station but access is through a long tunnel under the railway which is poorly lit. a single woman would not want to use the tunnel even in daylight hours. access to the beautiful old town involves crossing some eight lane roads, and you must bear in mind that italian drivers don't bother themselves overly with red lights! verona is a beautiful town and i enjoyed my visit.
