Was once the best on the block

Rooms are large, clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. the staff are lovely and go out of their way to may your stay a pleasure. the resort itself would have been the best in its class when it was built. however the resort is generally tired and in dire need of large amount of maintenance. i stayed here because i had to attend a function nearby. but i wouldn't choose to stay in jimbaran bay as it is not a sleepy sea side village. it is a noisy, busy, relatively unattractive part of bali and there are too many other nicer locations to stay. if you want to do any of the markets, cheap restaurants or bars you will have to travel 40 minutes to seminyak/legian/kuta which is not very convenient.

A great hotel run by great people.

My wife and i have only ever stayed at the kuta/legian area. we decided this holiday would be one of rest and relaxation. we knew once we arrived we had chosen well. the reception we recieved at check in was a welcome change from the average service we recieved elsewhere. we were made to feel important as they asked our plans and expectations for the stay. upon entering our room and veing shown through its features i was once again blown away by its appointments. epic shower and bath, massive bed and glat screen with plenty of channels. having a lagoon access room definatelty was the highlight though. if the budget allows for it, do it! it was well worth it to have pool access from your balcony 24 hours a day. the gardens were amazing and the pool bar whips up a great cocktail. the staff were brilliant, the spa was luxurious and relaxing and access to the beach was as simple as walking out the back door. wifi is free everywhere you go, from the pool to your room, which was a great touch. the only let down was the food. breakfast was not a full western spread that youd recieve back home in australia where we are from. we only had breakfast there once, lunch once and dinner once. it just didnt excite enough to warrant more visits. you dont really mind though as 10 meters away, out the back door, are 7 outstanding bbq seafood resturants, next to that the intercontinental jimbaran (which has some outstanding facilities for breakfast lunch and dinner as well as the best happy hour sun lounge view ive seen in bali), and numerous other hotels and beach cafes that cater for hungry travellers. all in all we had a great stay. would i stay again? probably, yeah. but i would give serious thought to the intercontinental first. if i didnt have the lagoon access room, probably not though. it really made the stay fun. we werent pestered for massages, transport or shopping by desperate sprukers which was excellent. there was a quiet upmarket feel the the whole area which was exactly what we wanted on our honeymoon. thank lemaridien! its was a pleasure!
