Extremely dated overpriced hotel

I paid just over 80 euros for a room including breakfast. whilst that may not seem much for a 3* hotel, this wasn't a 3* hotel (it might have been 35 years ago - but nothing has been spent on it since then). the water dribbled into the bath and so it took about an hour to run the bath. everything is very dated and in some cases very grubby. it is very near the station but a long way from the tourist sights. breakfast was the onloy thing that i felt was up to par. the reception desk was also pleasant. the onloy reason i chose this hotel is that the write ups i read for other hotels were bad - so maybe all hotels in pisa are overpriced and on their last legs. i would stay in florence and take the train into pisa for a day visit ratherthan staying in pisa itself.

Convenience over luxury

Very friendly. although the rooms are basic they are clean and efficient and they provide nice soft fluffy towels. above all it is convenient, being only a few metres from pisa central station and the hotel offers a shuttle service to the airport. we have used it regularly for some years now and are not disappointed.

La pace

Excellent hotel in a good location next to pisa centrale, so very convenient for catching the train. also very close to the airport. oldfashioned, but quirky in a nice way.

Simple but convenient

Hotel la pace is not the most glamorous hotel and being near the station you see some dubious characters hanging about, but it is very convenient as an overnight when flying in and out of pisa and the staff are some of the most delightful and helpful we have come across.

My second visit to la pace hotel and as enjoyable as the first. the hotel's charm for me is in its bar on the mezzanine floor. the barman (who remembered me from my visit in january)is extremely professional and knowledgeable. on both my visits he has enthralled my friends and i with his conversation and service of exciting drinks. make a point of using the bar if you stay here.

Moved to another hotel...

There was a problem on our arrival and we were unable to stay at this hotel... however, we were transferred by taxi (no expense to us) to another hotel, which we were totally happy with. as a gesture of good will, la pace collected us from the hotel in the morning and took us to the airport, without charge. obviously i am unable to 'rate' la pace, as we did it stay there and so the 'ratings' relate to the hotel we were moved to. however, we cannot fault their customer service, and therefore i would recommend this hotel. the

Filthy, horrible hotel

My bedroom was dirty, with dirty sheets in the bed. the bathroom was really filthy with hair all over. i`ll never ever come again.

Just right !

The hotel pace was a great place to stay for our one night stop-over in pisa. we were collected from the airport by the hotel shuttle bus and dropped off at the hotel. having read previous reviews about the situaiton of the hotel, i was prepared for the somewhat shabby surroundings, but everything else about the hotel and staff exceeded expectations. all of the staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. we were given free drinks - very welcome on a warm evening after a late flight - and four pieces of cake when we ordered coffee before retiring to bed! the hotel decor is great fun, if slighty odd, with two red telephone boxes in the reception area and paintings on every wall. the room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. my only problem was being given a room on the 7th floor and not liking elevators, which meant i was quite fit when i left!! the hotel is next to the station, but the noise from this didn't affect us at all. breakfast was plentiful the next morning, and we were allowed to leave our luggage in the room when we went to explore the sights of pisa on foot. the hotel staff helped with clear instructions on how to get to the leaning tower (20/25mins walk) and gave us a map as well. we were even dropped off back at the airport the next day to collect our hire car for the rest of our trip to tuscany. we would stay here again, but would probably request a room on a lower floor with a view of the sights. a great value hotel for the price we paid.

Right by the station!

The hotel was very well positioned only a 1 minute walk if that from the train station. quite easy to find. breakfast was good and hotel staff friendly and able to speak english. approx 15 minute walk to the leaning tower.

My stay in la pace

The hotel was in an excellent location for access to public transport. the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. there was a nice atmosphere there. i was with my mum and we both enjoyed our stay very much.

Fantastic!!! would definitely go back!!!

We read the reviews and looked at the pictures before we went, so we had a fairly true image of what it would be like. there's the odd rubbish one who perhaps think they are above comfy & friendly, in that case let them pay through the nose for posh wallpaper but shitty, rude staff! we found this hotel perfect for our 2 night stay in pisa. it is in a perfect location, 2 minutes walk to the train station and bus station (no, you don't hear any noise), bank also 2 minutes walk. 20 min walk to the tower etc... which is very pleasant. as for the entrance, yes, it is down a shopping alley, but not how described in some negative reviews, it is a large shopping sidewalk, yes, there are some people around outside the bookies etc but they are in no way threatening, intimidating at all, they are just getting on with their lives! this is a fantastic base for a trip to pisa at a fantastic price!!

Excellent la pace!

What an excellent hotel. unprepossessing from the outsied but internally spot on. every one was efficient and kind (even down to putting up with our elementary italian). the breakfast and evening menus in the bar were very good as was the efficiency and friendliness of the barman. thanks lapace for an excellent stay. if you're arriving at the airport, book the courtesy bus - it cost us 3 euros each and to have a man to meet you at the airport was such a bonus - you can book by email.

2 nights at la pace

The hotel is situated only 2 minutes from the railway station, a 15 minute walk from the airport and 20 minutes from the leaning tower. e arrived before 12 but were given access to our room straight away. the hotel is geared up for visitors wanting to know what to do and the staff immediately swung into action giving us the tourist routes. the room was spacious and spotless and we were delighted with our stay. you don't need a taxi to the airport .... it is an easy walk and we did it quite safely at 5 in the morning. don't use the cafe outside ... its expensive. there are, however, loads of others around.

Short break in pisa

Brilliant location within 2 minutes walk from the station. hotel reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. the room was ok but walls very thin and the bathroom was in serious need of redecoration and upgrading. nice cosy, friendly bar which doubled as a breakfast room. very nice bonus to be met by a shuttle bus rather than having to find own way there. would certainly recommend for short stays. 20 minute walk to main attractions but very interesting.

Hotel la pace

Booked quite last minute and wanted something within the town and close to the station. we weren't expecting much for the price but we pre-booked the shuttle - and there is was waiting as soon as we entered the arrivals hall. staff were very polite and efficient - we arrived before the usual check in time but we only had a short wait while they made our rooms ready for us. the rooms were a good size - decor a bit dated - but the beds were comfortable and the linen clean, which is more important. all in all, i would recommend to anyone who was visiting pisa.

'peace' in pisa

Close to station and not difficult to find. probably the best breakast during our italian visit and staff helpful with good standard of english.no problem with noise in rooms.

Dont tell everyone!

Wonderful central hotel, clean, friendly, lots of lovely artwork and character. staff were very helpful. buffet breakfast was quite substantial with a good variety for all tastes. quite a little find, being so central and added bonus of glimpses of the leaning tower from the room!
