Nice enough for what it is

Fairly isolated resort on northern edge of dead sea.
check in was easy enough and we were allocated a large room - not sure if good luck or what but it was about twice the size of other hotel rooms. alas - no towels in the room except hand towels. also requested babys cot and some coffee cups shortly after getting to the room. cot arrived promptly. coffee cups never arrived so we just took some up to the room from the little cafe near reception. we asked again for towels. then agin after return ing from a swim in the dead sea. and then phoned to check on the request. - they were never delivered. (so we dried off with hand towels...)
room was superficially clean - hairs on floor and soles of the feet became blackened when walking around the floor. attention to detail needed.
the walk down to the dead sea from the resort takes 10 minutes downhill; a bit longer returning, but there is a minibus put on for the trip if you want it.
we had dinner and breakfast included in the rate (good value) and the buffet style food was pretty nice on both meals. included meals are ideal as there is nothing else nearby.
on returning from breakfast we couldn't get back into our room as the card wouldn't work. recoded card from reception still wouldn't work and cleaners master key wouldn't work either. so waited 5 mins for maint guys to show up and they tried their 'card reader machine' and stood around looking a bit confused for 10mins until their supervisor arrived and he fixed it within 60 seconds. (...finally)

nice enough place and still looks new but it's obviously starting to develop faults and has some procedural problems. i'd still stay again but there are better resorts further around the dead sea, but they will cost more.

oh, and like everywhere in jordan: smokers in the lobby, in the lifts, in the restaurant whilst eating, just everywhere.
