Now a 3* property
Im afraid that this 800+ bedroom "hotel" is no longer a hotel; it is a conference venue with accommodation. there is only 1 restaurant (with 130-ish covers) and 1 bar remaining. the bar is in the foyer and the restaurant is a buffet with zero ambience. you can have room service if you like, but then you are stuck in a small room which has not been aired or de-odorised for months...maybe years. it used to have a proper bar - with bar food but this is now a storage facility for tailors mannequins despite the fact that the live moving signs in the hotel still advertise its presence. no one seems to care about the place. there also used to be a lovely cocktail bar with a separate fine dining restaurant overlooking the lake and my wife and i used to go here on birthdays and other special occasions...but alas it is no longer. probably more storage space. the club floor lounge - wine or beer, no spirits. i didn't stay for my included breakfast nor did i even look in the lounge to see what was on offer for me for breakfast. its now a ghastly disorganised place with zero proper facilities. i would suggest that this is a 3* property that lacks leadership and insight into what paying guests expect - even if it is only a hilton.
