4 of us stayed 4 nights in the hilton amsterdam in early july 2015. we were impressed with this hotel as soon as we arrived as the service was first class and the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. we had 2 rooms on the 7th floor with canal views. the rooms were very spacious and quiet with great views over the city. the buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of good food to enjoy. the hotel is situated in a quiet residential area outside the noisy city centre, a place to relax and enjoy a drink after a day of sightseeing or shopping. however do remember that this is a 5 star hotel so expect to pay 5 star prices for drink but you will get a 5 star service. there are also bars and restaurants in the local area. the hotel is within walking distance of the major museums and is only 15 minutes by tram to the city centre. the no16 tramline is the nearest while the no5 tram goes pass the museums. we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and i would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is thinking of visiting amsterdam. i would certainly stay at the hilton amsterdam again.
