The location of this hotel is excellent and made getting around pisa very easy. there are some good restaurants nearby and everywhere was walkable including the bus stop from the airport, train station to lucca and further afield, field of miracles (leaning tower) and across the river too. breakfast was simple but good. the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

I have stayed in the bid d now on two occasions - very happy to return again. the hotel staff are very friendly on arrival and whilst the hotel may at first seem old it has great character. it is situated in the lovely lively area near the leaning tower. the twenty minutes walk from the central train station is very enjoyable - i prefer this to the 5 minute taxi journey from the airport. the breakfast is superb - plently of choice and variety. i look forward to my next stay.

Duomo hotel sits a stones throw from the leaning tower. the view of the tower from our room (3rd floor, front) was wonderful. the staff were all helpful and friendly.

An all round thoroughly enjoyable stay. the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were very helpful and nearly all spoke english which was great as my italian is not the best. the hotel was situated just a 5 minute walk from the leaning tower and also about 10 minutes walk in the other direction from the main shopping area and centre. the food in the surrounding area was great and there are restuarants to suit all budgets.

A comfortable, well-situated hotel. reasonably priced with helpful staff. we felt the restaurant prices for evening meal were quite high and could be more in line with those in the town. we had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly visit this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and were happy with our room and service so we decided to return in august 08. the hotel is getting tired and is in need of decoration in some areas, the linen and towels were changed daily,one of the bathroom lights was not working but was seen to immediatly our room was at the front of the building which was nice and airy clean and in reasonable order but not a 4 star facility. the reception staff were somewhat frosty but all spoke english and were helpful for providing information for trains buses etc. the location is superb and surrounded by restaurants we used the santa maria next door which was great.the hotel restaurant is good but always empty. we would return again.

We've stayed in this hotel previously and found its location brilliant and its facilities more than adequate. this time, though, our room was dreadful. not fully cleaned, very small, overlooking a noisy side-street, one of the twin beds needed anew mattress and was very uncomfy, the bathroom fan was broken as was the plug in the bidet. a really bad experience -- very definitely not the 4 stars claimed

Booked as an overnight stay at short notice, the hotel proved to be friendly, clean and comfortable and was reasonably priced. it was well located near to the leaning tower and a "waiver" notice gave us 24hrs free parking on the street.

Difficult to grumble for the price, old hotel but had adequate, if somewhat old air-con and a stones thrown from the tower. hotel staff friendly and helpful enough so all in all a decent stay. not really a 4* hotel but hey no real complaints.

The shower was a drizzle of water and splashed under the curtain onto the floor and the bathroom door was a bit un-nerving in that the door handle didn't work. it ended up that you just push the door open (there was a moment of panic for my daughter though-she thought that she was locked in the bathroom).

The duomo hotel has the best location in pisa. it is only two minutes from the campo dei miracoli which is the primary tourist attraction in pisa. if fact you can walk out onto the hotel roof and find yourself with a direct view of the duomo and tower. by contrast, a few minutes walk the other way takes you into the main shopping and restaurant area. the public areas of the hotel are surprisingly large and grand but little used. the bedrooms tend to be small and rather dingy but more than adequate. service is good, especially at the front desk. breakfast is reasonable. this hotel could be magnificent if they took advantage of their location and size and revamped the place. as it is, we use it regularly because of its situation, its low cost and because it is clean and helpful

The hotel is perfectly situated for the tower and cathederal. the rooms were good and breakfast good also. the treasure of the hotel is the barman roberto. the perfect barman for visiting tourists, cheery, talkative and knowledgable on the area, he says he has been the barman for 35 years,you have harry's bar in venice,the hotel duomo's bar should be named roberto's bar.

Got the bus from the airport, got off at the other side of il duomo at dusk and walked past these fantastic historic buildings- could not believe my eyes. the hotel is literally 200m from pisa tower, could not think of a better location. not quite worthy of its 4 stars, jaded and lacking in comfort with a 2 star breakfast in both food and service. reception staff helpful.

Past its best but functional. good value for the price. not uk 4 * standard. position within pisa just perfect. staff were helpful and friendly. our room was drab and dark because it faced onto buildings on a narrow street at the back. no t.v.remote control. however, it was clean,quiet and the bed was comfortable. check out your fire escape. we found the corridors confusing and at the bottom of the stairs the emergency exit onto the street had tables and chairs piled up against the wall. breakfast was adequate (although not a hot buffet)worth going up to the roof to see the views !

The hotel is slightly dated and in need of refurbishment but retains a nice atmosphere of elegance. the rooms are clean and well appointed with wall safe and mini bar. i would happily return to the duomo on my next visit to pisa.

We took a weeks holiday to pisa. the hotel's decor is dated but that is the only fault with it. our room was comfortable and kept clean. the breakfast was good and the staff, especialy roberto the barman on the 1st floor bar, were friendly and helpful. the hotel's location is fantastic, 100m from the tower and a 10 min. walk from pisa central station. forget the tourist restaurants that are near to the hotel and tower, walk towards the town centre and explore some of the narrow streets, you will find lots of excellent cafes and restaurants.

Great location, check in was excellent! after coming off the plane at pisa we took a taxi and were in our room 20 minutes later. looked out of our window in the morning and there was the leaning tower and duomo. hotel looked like it had seen better days, however breakfast was good and the hotel clean.

We stayed here on the last night of our holiday. the receptionist was very friendly and helpful when we arrived and the rooms we were given were of good size and comfortable. the only gripe i had was that our room faced the main road (via s maria) and remained quite noisy through the night. however, the location was fantastic and we got to see the tower, duomo and baptistry in the morning, afternoon and lit up in the evening, so not so bad!

Hotel was ideally situated for the leaning tower and piazza. the double room we had was adequate at best, looking over an inner view, pretty dismal really. bathroom was okay with all the usual bits 'n pieces. bar was very expensive so best to use the 'al fresco' bars and restaurants on the street. had a couple of lovely dinners in the bars just 60 seconds away. breakfast was okay, the usual continental style, nothing hot. overall, it was okay for a couple of nights and ideal for the tower sightseeing. adequate, but will be trying elsewhere if we go to pisa again.

The hotel dumo as with much of pisa seems to be living on past glories. the hotel has indeed the perfect location and this must be its main selling point. rooms to the front of the hotel have a good view of the leaning tower which is only about 200 metres away. cant comment on the hotels"famous" lounge bar as it was closed during our stay!!! the rooms were clean and functional although a little dated. staff were helpful and professional. breakfast is the usual fare which should cater well for most. the hotel is certainly not a 4 star hotel by todays standards but never the less for a short stay in pisa ticked most of the boxes with the great added advantage of location.

After reading previous reviews of the hotel i feared the worst.all in all the hotel was ok.the room was clean . the maids attended to the room every day.breakfast was what you expect in italy, ie cereals,bread, cheese and cold meat.nothing cooked or hot apart from tea or coffee.certain staff on reception could be quite abrupt.all in all good value for money.

Hotel was extremely pleasant. apparently the best in pisa. the fully air-conditioned room was quite spacious with an excellent en-suite bathroom, offering a fantastic view of the leaning tower and the cathedrals for a very reasonable price. breakfast, as in most european hotels, is not the best but it comes within the price so can't grumble. the hotel barman is a legend!!

A great hotel in the best position overlooking the leaning tower. friendly staff , great service. the room a little small but didn't spend much time in it. bathroom had all you would need including a selection of the usual freebies. i would recommend this hotel to anyone because of it's great position surrounded by tourist shops bars ice cream shops and restaurants.
