We needed a cheap place to stay while in berlin on work. b&b for £30 a night for 2 of us was v good value. downsides were position of the hostal - rather far from anywhere but right next to the s-bahn + the hordes of young ones clearly on holiday and up late/noisy at night. room was comfortable but sparse and at the luxury end of the hotel as it had en suite rather than the corridor shared bathrooms/showers. happy hour (half price drinks) very welcome after being out all day. breakfasts were like school meal times.
