The service in this hotel is top class. the reception staff were so welcoming that it was a breeze checking in and out. any queries were dealt with straight away. the room was of 5 star quality and the food at the reception was the best i have ever eaten. i could not get over the sheer size of the grounds around the hotel. i would definitely stay again.

Everything about the hotel excelled.we arrived at the main door and were ushered in under umbrellas as it was raining.our suitcases were taken care of-we were not allowed to remove them from the boot-all was so professional.the wedding party including myself were very impressed with the hotel

Stayed at this hotel as i was attending a wedding there. fantastic hotel in lovely mature woodland surroundings. friendly staff. rooms excellent, clean and tastefully decorated.

We are just back from the fota island resort which i will tell you all is definitely worth a visit. it is such a gorgeous place set 20 minutes from cork city, is a perfect little getaway break. we (family of 4, 2 adults & 2 kids) stayed for 2 nights, having got a great deal for two rooms on booked through another website and not the hotels. i wanted interconnecting rooms which could not be guaranteed with my booking agent. i just rang the hotel once the booking was confirmed and it was no problem and we got interconnecting rooms. from the minute we got there it was pure luxury. we sat outside the bar so as not to disturb the other guests with two kids. there was a lovely seating area with some grass and enough space for the kids to run around. we went for afternoon tea and what sat before us was too nice to even explain. it was just delicious. we went for a walk in the forest area surrounding the hotel and the kids loved it. the hours are restricted for the pool for kids 9-12 and 4-6 only; we didn’t have a problem with this. the pool is great but be wary with small kids as there is no shallow end, the baby pool is very small. there is a lifeguard on duty. however this didn’t ruin our enjoyment of the pool as we came prepared with arm bands and life jackets. the staff were very helpful and gave us an extra hat for the baby (2 years) with no charge. the only issue i had with the pool was that there seemed to be a lot of sand on the bottom which i thought was very strange. we visited the fota wildlife park too which might seem boring but it was so sunny and a perfect day to spend outside. the weather was great for the weekend which helped. we only got room service in the hotel for dinner and breakfast as it was just easier with the kids. the food was lovely and the service good and prompt. the rooms were big and the beds even bigger. the pillows were soft and the bed so comfy. for the whole time we were there the staff couldn’t do enough for us from filling the babies bottle with milk in the evening, nothing was too much trouble. will definitely be back!
