Discover Otepaa
The city of Otepää is located in the county of Valgamaa, in the southern part of Estonia, and it is the administrative centre of its rural municipality.The city has a rather small population of just over 2,000 inhabitants, it is however, well known as an important ski resort, so it is often considered Estonian winter capital, in contrast to the summer capital of the country, which is Pärnu.
In addition to being the most famous centre for winter sports in the Baltic region, Otepää has other attractions such as the Ski Museum, the ruins of bishop's castle, built in the thirteenth century, and the Estonian Flag Museum.
The surroundings of Otepää are especially beautiful to visit in all seasons, thanks also to the presence of the Otepää Nature Park and Lake Pühajärve.
