On arriving in london we found that the hotel had a note on the door saying to check in at tophams hotel along the road. i've never had to do that before and looking at the eaton square hotel it looked shabby from the outside. we did as asked and were met by a lovely young man who welcomed us( my mother and myself). i commented on how nice this hotel looked and he offered us an upgrade to include 2 english breakfasts for £50. i accepted and went to a comfortable double room . it had a bath and a shower cubicle which is unusual, you normally get one or the other . the bed was comfortable and although the furniture looked a bit tired we had a comfortable stay. breakfast was a bit haphazard although there was a member of staff had phoned in sick so there were only 2 girls trying to serve everyone . on checking out we were told we could leave the case which we did i've seen some not so good reviews of this hotel but for the money, location and service i couldn't fault it we will probably return to the same hotel again
