Elegance

Given we got a good deal via hotelsclick.com and a room upgrade via tripadvisor.com, our stay was a great success. the staff spoke very good english and were helpful with all sorts of advice. the setting is brilliant, almost in the uffici and right by the ponte vecchio. the buffet breakfast is comprehensive, included and one of the best we have had anywhere. our room was a mini suite with a separate sitting room/ kitchette even though we had booked a basic double. we didn't get the "room with a view" but we couldn't have asked for much better.

The very best hotel experience ever

This was the very best place hotel stay i have ever had. it was my third of 5 hotels i had stayed in in italy during a 3 week trip. the room was fantastic including a great bathroom and shower which i love. the hotel is about 75m from the ponte vecchio and is slap in the middle of anything you could want including restaurants of all price brackets. the breakfast was by far the best i had in italian hotels and i was stuffed every morning. the room was serviced during the day and then again in the evening to prepare it for the night. there were that many small touches i am sure i have forgotten them but it was all in the small things including ribboned t shirts left on the pillow to sleep in. the roof bar is great with a reasonable price on food and drink. there is a swedish sweetheart working in the bar who is just a delight and couldn't do enough. all the other staff were italian which was great too as who wants to go to italy and get hoteled with non nationals? anyway, it was my honeymoon and the hotel orafi in florence totally enhanced the experience. i would go back in a heartbeat.
