My 12 hour stay!

I was attending a function at the lord's cricket ground in the evening, and needed somewhere convenient to stay that was not too expensive. the hotel is opposite lord's. i also had to leave at 5am the following morning in order to catch a train back to manchester, so this was not a long stay. for the length of time i was in the hotel i suppose it was hardly "budget"! however, everything was as i would have expected, and not having breakfast included was ideal, as this would have added further expense to my short stay. checking in was quick and easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was an executive room, which exceeded expectations. it was very comfortable, clean, and all conveniences were there - tea/coffee bottled water. there were numerous tv channels, although if i was being really picky, sky sports would have been nice!! having said that, i arrived at 4.30 in the afternoon, and left at 5am, so it was only the news that i tuned into. i didn't take advantage of wifi, but was surprised this was only available in reception and bar areas. the following morning, the concierge organised a taxi for me which ensured i got to euston station in time for my train.

Danubius hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the danubius hotel. all the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was on the 8th floor and has recently been refurbished to a good standard. the aircon was very effective. although on a busy junction, we were not aware of traffic noise. the room cleaning was slightly hit or miss, but on the first day was excellent. all in all we would use this hotel as a base in london again.

Most enjoyable stay

My husband and i booked this hotel for a one night stay as we were going to a function. i also booked my neice and her husband and my two sisters in to the same hotel. on our arrival it was a smooth booking-in and even though not all parties were there yet they made sure our rooms were side by side. rooms were very pleasant and well decorated and although maybe on the small side sufficient enough for what we wanted with very well decorated bathrooms. we were hungry when we arrived so went down to get a sandwich which for one round was £8.10 a little too steep but i guess we were paying london hotel prices. our stay included continental breakfast which was good. all in all a very pleasant stay.

2 nights at the hotel

I use the hotel regularly when in london on business and everything is excellent other than the gym. i mentioned at reception that some of the gym equipment was not working and some required maintenance when i checked out a few weeks ago. when i stayed again last week nothing in the gym had changed - machines not working and some requiring maintenance as they are barely working properly. i completed the guest comment card and explained the same. if this is not sorted i will look for another hotel with a better maintained gym.

Left a bad smell.

Position is great-just outside "congestion zone" but close enough for west end. staff first class--friendly and relatively efficient. the only problem we encountered was a bad smell of sewage/waste emanating from the bathroom sink which the hotel appeared unable to remove.

Just what we askedfor

We chose this hotel for its parking facility and nearness to buckingham palace where i was attending an investiture. lovely hotel with big and very nice romms and public areas. my only complaint wold be the evening meal. the set menu was goulash fish or risotto- not really a good selection and the al a carte was very expensive so we were forced to eat out

Danubius

Good hotel with parking - nice location next to regent's park and overlooking lord's cricket ground. reception staff are all foreign but usually very helpful. you can have breakfast in your room for a small extra charge which makes life so much sweeter! bar meals are good and restaurant is never very full so service is quite fast. we have used hotel many times so our opinion holds good!

2 night stay

I needed a hotel in the st johns wood area, and the danubious met my requirements. it was clean, quiet and we only used the breakfast on the last morning but found it to be fine. could have used it on the first day but it did not open till 7am. thought the price of an £12.95 extra for a couple of sausages, bacon, mushroom and egg was a totsl rip off.

Good value hotel

We stayed for 2 nights january 2009. room was clean - it had been recently refurbished, but this didn't seem to include the door and some of the furniture which had chips knocked out of the wood. room was an odd shape and a bit on the small side. however bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. fridge in the room was useful. staff were all very friendly and helpful. we ate in the restaurant one evening - distinctly average. we got a good deal through click and would say the hotel was good value.

Weekend break at the danubius

This was our second stay at the danubius and we weren't disappointed. we booked a standard room and were pleasantly suprised to see the bathroom had been up-graded from last year. the room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. the staff are always very friendly and efficient and go out of their way to help you. we ate lunch at the hotel bar and the meal was excellent and very good value for money and again the staff were very pleasant. we had continental breakfast which was served in the dining room, there was an excellent choice and plenty of it. this hotel is good value for money and it's the first time we have booked through hotelsclick.com we got an excellent deal and we shall definately use them for future bookings.

Never a 4star hotel

This hotel was very tired inside, with noisy work going on within the bedrooms adjacent from early morning until 5pm, not ideal. the lift area was cluttered with old furniture and hardly safe nor appealing.this was on level 4.it is meant to be a 4star however it hardly rates 2 star.

A great stay

The location was brilliant for us as we had tickets for the cricket at lords. the staff were so friendly and helpful especially the concierges and breakfast staff. excellent food and well furbished rooms. we will certainly stay here again. the tube stations are a fair walk but there are also good restaurants bars within walking distance. it was also great to have a 24 hour convenience store right next door.

Very nice hotel!

We stayed here in a twin room for a couple of nights. we paid a much cheaper price over the internet through hotelsclick.com than it would have cost us with the hotel direct. we didn't feel like we were treated any differently because of that though. the continental breakfast was very good, with lots of cereal, fruit, toast, pastries, and the staff were all really friendly. we didn't have much of a view from the room, just a railway line, but you couldn't hear the trains at all with the window closed and what do you expect in the middle of a big city like london. i suspect that the rooms with views of regents park or lord's cricket ground can only be booked directly with the hotel and for the full price, which is fair enough. it worked out at only about £37 a night each for a lovely clean big room with all mod cons and complimentary biscuits, tea and coffee, and shampoo, shower gel, etc., which for london is extremely cheap!
