Don't stay here

This hotel is in a non tourist part of the city and has good transport links due to the proximity of the new tram service. the area is badly lit at night and we worried about our personal safety but the locals in the shops , many of which were open till late were friendly and helpful. the hotel was very badly run by staff who could not cope with more than 1 person at the reception desk. they seemed not to care at all for their guests. the lift is tiny and not suitable for disabled persons. the lobby is dirty and badly maintained, and also too the truly awful restaurant which serves the worst breakfast ever known. do not bother to pay for this, there are excellent places to have a good breakfast nearby. the orange juice was watered down, the fruit salad was tinned and the coffee machine drinks were dreadful. the good things about the hotel were the excellent room cleaners who were kind and welcoming and made the simple rooms as nice as possible. there were only 2 electrical sockets in our room. we had a balcony which was a welcome novelty. the beds were comfortable which was a pleasant surprise and the linen and towels were good. the price for our triple room was good value so although they should improve their service and level of cleanliness, you got what you paid for.
