Hotel stay for secc

Ideal stay for going to a concert at the secc or clyde auditorium. rooms a bit on the small side but as only staying overnight it wasn't a problem.

Great value and location

Booked last minute to stay here on news year eve. check in was busy when we arrived but went smoothly and the reception staff were friendly. rooms are a decent size with everything you need, hairdryer, tea coffee facility and toiletires. extremely handy if you going to the secc. breakfast was nice, choice of the usual hot and cold foods with juices, tea, coffee etc was a nice start to 2012!

Great hotel for secc

We often stay here when visiting glasgow for concerts at the secc. its a comfy clean hotel with everything you need. our room was on the small side but perfectly adequate. its worth searching for a deal that includes scottish breakfast as its buffet style and frequently refilled. for the cost ,you canny beat it!

Great hotel with a few minor faults

Great hotel staff very pleasant great service the only faults were the shower tray in our room had a nasty crack in it it could easily had cut our feet if we had'nt noticed it the sink was cracked too!! the carpet was wet near the toilet wall i presume it was due to the shower tray leaking!!

Great basic hotel, needs new carpets though!!

Very happy with the stay overall. the room was basic but clean and had a flat screen tv. we are dinner before we went out and the food was lovely. the location of the hotel is great too. it was cheap at £55 per night (although i understand this isn't the normal rate). if i'd paid the standard rate of £85 then my review might not be quite so positive as i don't think the hotel is in good enough shape (furnishings, carpets etc) to charge this amount. of course, it was still a pleasant stay, the bed was comfortable, check out time reasonable and food good but i would expect clean carpets and a higher standard of soft furnishings gher standard of soft furnishings for that price. i keep repeating that the carpets were stained because this was glaringly obvious. overall - if you can get thsi hotel at the price we did then it's fantastic but i wouldn't advise spending the full £85.

Campanile overnight

Location perfect for secc, staff helpful, and breakfast sufficient for most needs. bed comfortable and clean, unlike room carpet. shower tray very badly cracked and silicon partially applied, a bit off-putting. also booked twin and only double available, as hotel had notification for same. staff however, made up the sofa bed in the room. it was quite comfortable, according to my travelling companion. apart from the shower condition which was really poor, this hotel ticks all the boxes for location and price, as great pleasure derived from sitting watching everyone else trying to exit the car park of the secc!

Campanile is a great location when exhibiting at the secc it gave me great value but easy access especialily as i was travelling alone. the hotle was clean and comfortable which are the main things i look for when away from home. i didn't use the restaurant instead opted for the oriental restaurant across the car park which was fab and welcoming

Campanile stay

The campanile is perfect for when you are at a concert at the secc. we had a great meal at the india quay and then enjoyed our concert. the hotel was fine, apart from the breakfast which was one of the poorest we have had to be honest. nothing was hot enough, some stuff was over cooked, one of the coffee machines was not working - all very average. however, this would not put us off staying again if we were back up at the secc.

Our overnight stay at the campanile

We booked the campanile due to its location and subsequently the price. we were going to the x factor concert at the secc so its location was ideal. unfortunately the x factor concert for the 7th march had been rescheduled and we had not been notified. so it left a bitter edge to the overnight cost of the hotel and our travel expenses. neither of which the secc were prepared to cover. however, overall the hotel, the staff and the evening meal and breakfast were exemplary - thank you so much for giving as a very pleasant stay.

Glasgow break

Stayed at the hotel as a base for the open championship at turnberry. very clean, staff efficient and friendly, food good. do not go room only as the breakfast is excellent value. minus points there is a distinct lack of wardrobe space and the bar closes promptly at 11pm weekdays and 10.30pm sundays. as a consequence of the latter we seldom made it in time for a drink before retiring for the evening. not ideal for tourists and holidaymakers.

Stay at the campanile - 07.12.08

Stayed here with a friend for the purpose of attending a concert at the secc - we found the room small but alright for one nights stay - the location to the secc was excellent as it was just a 2 minute or so walk across. would definitely recommend for concert goers and people having a weekend away only drawback was we were lead to believe the bar was open until midnight but on return from the concert at 11pm we were advised the bar had shut at 10.30 and there was no service of drinks. we weren't the only ones complaining about that fact - lucky we had brought our own - so bring your own drink with you if you are to be going to a concert or wanting to have a drink after a concert!!!!

Saturday 6th dec 08

I've stayed at the campanile a couple of times now. the service is great, the food has been great and the rooms have been clean and well equipped. however, i was left extremely disappointed this time because despite the room being a non smoking room it was reeking of cigarettes. and there was an ashtray in the room! i returned to reception to see if they'd misunderstood me and had given me a smoking room but no, it was definitely a non smoking room and they didn't have any other room to give us. so if, like me, you detest the smell of cigarettes please avoid room 120. in fact that entire corridor stank of cigarettes. we left there the following morning stinking of cigarettes with sore throats and headaches.

Campanile stay at glasgow

Good value for money. but extremely irritiating that the tv didnt have any sound for itv and it was the same last year. why cant they fix it? also there was no heating on in the room when we went in and it was very cold. having just driven for 5 hours that wasn't very welcoming. also the overheaed central heating unit wouldn't work it just blew cold air out and nobody came to fix it despite asking. we had to keep putting the fan on and off which inconvenient. so in the morning the room was very cold and we couldn't get it to warm up. i expect that in my caravan but not in a hotel in glasgow where in october it is usually cold.

Campanile, glasgow

I chose this hotel because of it's closeness to the secc as we were going to a concert there. it was absolutely ideal - 2 minutes walk from the secc. rooms were basic but clean. would definately use when going to the secc again or if i had an early flight from the airport (about 10 mins drive).
