Good and not so good...

We enjoyed a nice stay at the hotel. staff were friendly and helpful. rooms were kept clean but ours needed to be modernised. we felt the price was quite reasonable. reception staff were helpful and quick to help us. i can't understand why they needed a copy of my driving licence though. it was quite disappointing that room service was not available during our stay. breakfast was of a high standard in the morning. the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were excellent!! a much needed unwind, thanks.

My advise

I've been staying at this hotel for years on and off as i visit manchester often for football and gigs. there are so many better hotels in the city, however it really is horses for courses. it's location just couldn't be better for trains, trams, shopping, nightlife and gig's and it's extreamly cheap. on the flip side of this it's dated and in dire need of investment. it biols down to a personal choice thing, if you want all the good points from the above then be prepared not to whinge about the poor bits, its perfectly servicable as a hotel just don't expect the ritz!

Sachas

for the price the location is very central which is what we wanted. the room was described as standard but we were initially given a city room ie with no windows!! , the room was very warm and the heating thermostat was broken .the reception staff were very helpful and changed our room. room decor is not great but at the price it was ok

Never again!!

Although the location and reception area are excellent the room that we stayed in was awful!! i wasn't asked if i wanted non-smoking but as most places are these days i didn't think to ask - big mistake!! the whole of the 5th floor smelled of cigarettes covered up with some sort of floral air freshener. i got to my room and the smell was worse with ash trays on display. the bathroom door was closed and when i opened it there was a strong smell of urine which made me feel really sick. for the price i would have expected more and because of how poor the room was we didn;t even attempt breakfast. left and went to the costa down the street. we had to wash all our clothes when we got home because of the stench in the room. luckily the window opened!! we didn;t have time to complain as we were on a very tight schedule and knew we would only be in the room for a minimum time, just to sleep. but in hindsight that was a mistake as i am asthmatic and the smell irritated my symptoms. i woke in the morning feeling nauseous and tight chested. we will not be going back to repeat the experience. premier inns at half the price are far better...

Sachas hotel manchester

Although we had a good deal money wise at this hotel, there were things we were not happy with. the beds were very uncomfortable, they really do need updating.

Hotel review britania sachas manchester

Easy to book, east to check in, very central to manchester city centre, rooms a little dated and well worn but cosy enough and clean. excellent breakfast, staff friendly and helpful. lifts out of order but could use service lift but didn't need it.

Britannia sachas hotel review

The service i think is the first point id like to make it was pleasant and welcoming i was seen by a member of staff almost immediatley with a good curtious manner. the gym was excellent as well as the pool and sauna thats one of the reasons why i keep going back as not many in the area have these facilities at such a good rate. how ever i was most displeased with the enormous party they had for a very large group of people that played music that loud my mirrors on the wardrobe were disinctively vibrating and we were 2 floors up and the party was on ground floor this went on till very late. so it bothered me a bit but i was more concerned with the fact that this was totally inconsiderate for the other guests as well as my self.

March visit to hotel

When i arrived at the hotel the room was freezing as there was no heating at all in the room. i asked for a heater and one came but it took until 3am in the morning until the room was warm enough for me to take off my jumper. also the shower was so blocked with lime scale that only hot water came out. i was also bitten in the bed at night by something? and got a rash on my leg. i will never stay in this hotel ever again.

Sacha's hotel, manchester

Great location, reasonable price. a bit old-fashioned in its decoration. bed rather uncomfortable and some of the room finishes were poor eg lack of plug sockets and trouser press socket damaged (potentially dangerous).

Overnight stay

Sacha's is a very central hotel with good amenities. the carvery is excellent value for money and the breakfast is very good. the bedroom was spacious and comfortable but in need of decoration to keep up the standard of the hotel.

Great location for shopping!

On the whole the hotel is good. great location, right near all the shops, station and men. nice reception with very friendly, helpful staff. the room was ok, didn't get much sleep though because of noisy neighbours in the next room - made the walls seem paper thin. the main down point was the service at breakfast. arrived at 9.30am which was obviously the busiest time. all the tables were dirty and cluttered with used breakfast things. we had to clean our own table before we could sit down. the waiters knew two speeds, slow and stop. had to ask for a coffee three times before i got one. just not enough staff on to cope with volume of people. the food itself was ok. i wouldn't knock it for the price, best thing was the location. the leisure facilities were good to.

Sachas

The reception area of the sachas is pleasant, but the rooms are pretty shabby. ours on the 5th floor were scruffy and were like something you may see in a gangster movie, with stains on the wall and dirty looking curtains. i spoke with some other residents who said that theirs were nice but they were on a different floor. of the 5 twin rooms we booked they were all poor, and all on that same floor. one room had a collapsed bed,- perhaps someone had previously been jumping on it, but it was discraceful that the hotel expected one of us to sleep on it. this was fixed when a complaint was made and they were given a different room, but this should not have happened as the hotel was not cheap and looked nicer in photos. we really were not happy with the rooms as they were probably the worst i have ever seen in a hotel in recent years. also, the rooms were very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in. i could not sleep with covers as it was far too hot and the windows are high up and out of reach so could not be opened. the hotel is in a good location, just off picadilly sq. which is very handy and the breakfast was ok.

This hotel was in a great location - only a minute from the main shopping centre and only a 2 minute walk from the bus that goes to the trafford centre. hotel rooms were spacious and very comfortable, hotel staff were always friendly and helpful, and fantastic value for money. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning on staying in manchester.
