Travelodge edinburgh west end

This hotel is a distance from the city centre and they do not offer a left luggage service - not very convenient if you have had an early flight and treked from the bus stop in the expectation of leaving your bags while you go and explore. ended up taking the cases to waverley station's left luggage and then dragging them back to the hotel later in the evening. not a good start to the weekend. the room facilities were adequate, the breakfast service was chaotic on the sunday but good on the monday, but there was nothing outstanding with this hotel.

Don't book breakfast

The staff were friendly but ....we booked three nights b & b for the fringe, we wouldn't book breakfast again, it was far too busy and not replaced on a regular basis. there are plenty of good restaurants and cafes serving breakfast at a fraction of the price. our bathroom floor was dirty, had to ask for towels and loo roll and the mattress had seen much better days! that said edinburgh was amazing, my third visit to the fringe and it is always such a blast. can't wait to visit edinburgh again, just not this hotel!

Hotel menzies bekfird

First room cold then moved to hot, stuffy room which also suffered from cooking smells from kitchen. had no bedside light, only spot lights in ceiling which were too bright. extractor fan in bathroom either did not work or was inefficiant.

Staying with toddler for wedding function

Stayed thurs-sat for a friday wedding. reception staff were great with us and toddler although not accurate at recording or remembering information. meal prices extortionate and with toddler our options and timing was restricted so we broke our bank account on that alone. expanse of hotel for exploring great and little features like water fall inside and piano player fantastic for our wee one. desperately disappointed baby monitor didn't work from our room to the function hall so it meant no wedding reception for me. staff great at getting us warm milk for toddler at any time of day and no one minded her running around.

Great!

The belford hotel really ensured that we had a great easter weekend in edinburgh. although we didnt spend that much time at the hotel, the time that we did spend there was great. the buffet breakfast is superb, the service was top notch and the room was fine. we honestly dont have a single thing to complain about(except maybe the prices at the hotel bar which were fairly steep!). anyway, i'd go back there next time i visit edinburgh!!

Great place to stay with hotelclick.com!!!!!

The hotel was very comfortable! the room wasnt the biggest i've stayed in but it was clean and had everything in that i needed including a king size bed! the breakfast was very good indeed...as was any other food from the hotel. i would have liked to have been a little closer to edinburgh centre but 15 mins walk wasnt that in the sun.

Menzies belford hotel edinburgh reviewed by bdw---feb 2007

Now stayed on two separate occasions of 3 and 4 days.very handy location, about 10 minutes walk from princes street and george street,so you can park the car and walk or use public transport, which is excellent. rooms are comfortable and very clean. ask for a room overlooking the water of leith which runs along the back of the hotel.very pleasant walks along here. breakfasts are buffet style and with a very good choice.evening restaurant very good but expensive, and a bit lacking in atmosphere.staff polite and helpful without being overbearing.we would definitely use the belford again.
