Lovely spacious room. really clean and really comfy bed with lots of wardrobe space and seating area with table. building is amazing and a step back in time. they really should up grade the lifts tho. they take ages at busy times

Hotel adelphi

I along with my daughter recently stayed at this hotel on the whole the hotel is a lovely place to stay the beds were comfortable and clean some parts of the hotel were very decorative, we dined in jennys carvery where the food was delicious with a starter main course and a sweet the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the price was very reasonable

I love this place, but some don't

The britannia adelphi hotel is something special. it was built in 1914 and the public rooms are beautiful. everywhere you look there are architectural treasures. i love it and will go on returning. it has, however, seen better days and some of the other areas are rather shabby. having said that, it is gradually being imrproved - i first stayed there five years ago.

Faded elegance

The big advantage of this hotel is the central location. also the price was reasonable for what you get. but don´t expect a luxury hotel as it is shown in the description.

3 night stay

Hotel was fine. as well known the hotel was beautifully appointed years ago and shows its age somewhat but still a pleasant venue. staff friendly and polite.

Great location if you want to sacrifice comfort

Very old huge hotel, it has got some charm and it is clear to see that in its day it would have been for the grand and wealthy. however it is tired looking and depending on your room location...you could end up with a completely uninhabitable room or a nice airy room. we had booked 4 rooms and they all were on different floors. no problem to us. but all our rooms were of different caliber. some were nice and clean and some disgusting with no heating and dirty. however when we complained we got a lovely large room on the third floor. the breakfast was great. the lifts were a pain as they kept on getting stuck and breaking. i had to walk down six flights of stairs with my disabled friend. a pain! the adelphi was okay to stay in if there is a group of you going away for a girls or guys weekend bender. or a couple away for a weekend getaway. overall we all enjoyed our stay in liverpool as a whole as the hhotel location was great as it was close to the city centre for shopping, matthew street and concert square.

Endearingly tatty

If you're desperate for corporate-standard hotel features, then this is not for you. the hotel is enormous. it's a hangover from a different era, and rather tatty round the edges. but i really liked it. the room was large. it was clean, and everything i needed was there, and it had character that you just don't get in a modern corporate hotel. the staff were friendly, and i would not hesitate to use it again.

Grandeur, but rather faded

This hotel is very well situated, being about five minutes walk with luggage from liverpool lime street station. it is a grand and imposing building, but it has seen better times. having said that, i have noticed a general improvement in the overall ambience over the time i have known it. let us hope this continues. the price through hotelsclick.com was highly competitive and as far as i am concerned the stay was very cost effective.

A treat

I had always, since i was quite small, wished to stay at the adelphi... my partner wished to spend time in liverpool taking photographs ... we indulged ourselves and were pleased to find any negative comments we had read were, in our experience, unfounded. pleasant and efficient staff in all areas, all our accomodation was clean and breakfast adequate for us ... our only very minor niggle - the latter could have been available untill later ...

Disappointment

Room bathroom old fashioned, poorly decorated and generally just plain grotty. more representable of a £20.00 per night b & b, not a 3 star hotel offering spa facilities which are charged on top of room price. car parking secure but a pain having to find staff to open garage doors. entire hotel lacks service with a smile. i didnt expect a luxury room for a budget price but room standard fell far below price paid.
