First class

The staff at this hotel should be very proud of themselves from reception housekeeping and breakfast staff.nothing was too much trouble and the information they gave was spot on. the room was clean spacious and very comfortable.the breakfast was comprehensive and plentiful all tastes catered for one of the best continental breakfast buffets i have had. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel it was a really nice place to return to after a long day sight seeing. if only my hotel in rome had been this good!! congratulations far better than your capital city.

Excellent service

The bologna is close to the station and easy to find, and a pleasant walk to the campo dei miracoli. all the reception staff we met were very helpful, and the room was fine though quite small. very good bathroom, and everything was spotlessly clean. we unfortunately left something in the room when we moved on to florence, and were extremely grateful to the staff for their help when we rang them about it. they located the items and kept them safely until we were able to pick them up. we were very grateful for their efficiency and kindness.

Great hotel

This was our second visit to hotel bologna, the first was 6 years ago. this time was even better than the last. the hotel is central for the leaning tower and the field of miracles. it's only 5 minutes walk from the train station which is great for exploring the area around pisa such as lucca or torre del lago a beautiful lake that can be reached by a short train & bus journey. the staff in the hotel are excellent and a great breakfast is provided. also a nice touch in the evening is they provide, free of charge, a selection of foods from tuscany such as parma hams, cheeses, olives etc. all freshly prepared to enjoy over a glass of wine in the bar.

Pleased to be back

We have stayed in the bologna quite a few times now and each time we have not been disappointed. the staff, especially the reception staff are very helpful and the breakfast is good. the hotel also runs a shuttle bus which is reasonably priced. the location of the hotel is excellent.

Well worth a stay

Size is important

City break for friends

Have been organising city breaks for the last 4 yrs,and this is by far the best hotel that we as a group of ten have stayed in.the breakfast was superb and all the staff were spot on.

Hotel bologna

The room was clean, well decorated with tea/coffee making facilities. bathroom was spotless, shower hot. excellent service, nice hot breakfast too. front desk staff were courteous & even gave me a small treat for my birthday!

Our stay in the bologna hotel pisa

We are just back from a 3 night stay at the bologna hotel. we arrived on the sunday afternoon and were greeted by a very friendly young lady who checked us in very efficiently and without delay. she offered us a town map at no cost and was generally very welcoming. the room was spacious and very clean and was wellserviced each day. the hotel is well sited for restaurants and bars with an excelleent tappas bar just across the road. the railway station is about 10 minutes walk and the tower about 15 minutes. i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to our friends

Wonderful hotel

My mum and i stayed here for one night before heading back to the airport the next day. it was a super hotel, easy to find from the train station, only 5-10 minute walk. very welcoming staff and a super bedroom. we would certainly come back to this hotel without hesitation. excellent location for the airport, only 5 minutes by car. the hotel offers a shuttle service at a charge to the airport which was great. breakfast super.

Fatastic city break

Lovely hotel, very clean and quite modern, large bathroom and nice breakfast. for the money and location you can't go wrong.everything within easy walking distance and some lovely restaurants nearby. on the whole our break was great and we only wish we had had a few more days as so much to do and many places to go by train. florence was out of this world and if you go early you don't have to queue and lucca is gorgeous only 25mins by train. we will def be back.

Stop over in pisa 14 oct 2008

Three of us shared a family room. it was huge and spotlessly clean. the room facilities were far more than we expected. chiara on reception was so helpful and recommended some restaurants for us near the hotel. we had some cocktails in the bar and they were fantastic, very reasonabe and domenico the barman was great. we were delighted with out choice to stay here.the hotel shuttle took us to the airport for a very early flight. will return again and stay for a few more days to enjoy pisa.

Lovely hotel

The hotel bologna was within easy walking distance of the tower and tourist area, but also the main shopping street. the rooms were a little on the small side, but perfectly adequate for sleeping in! there was also not much to choose from on the room service menu food wise. special thanks to the reception staff, in particular kai, who were very helpful following a very stressful incident one evening.

Short break

The hotel bologna deserves recommendation for several reasons;it is very conveniently situated-10 minutes walk from the station,15 minutes walk from the tower and very near the shops. it is quiet,especially if you have a room at the back. reception is unfailingly helpful;beakfast is excellent and there is a very pleasant terrace. our room was rather small but perfectly adequate. there is a wonderful cake shop just round the corner!

A taste of italy...

Only there for a couple of nights,but a delightful time was had by all.lovely hotel,excellent staff and a perfect location enabled us all (6 adults),to enjoy a most memorable weekend. as a "seasoned traveller" , i can highly recommend this hotel.

Delightful

We enjoyed our stay at the bologna the hotel was clean well appointed , breakfast was very good ,room was good do not expect scenic views as you are in a town.location was excellent 10 mins from the station and 20 mins through pisa to the tower .train service is really good just ask any receptionist and they will help you with local knowledge regarding trains, buses etc.it was our first holiday of this type and we were fortunate to choose the bologna.the only problem some people may have is the size of the bathroom the one we had was not built for a big person we did not have a problem but i could see some people could have.a plus is that they have a kettle in the room for tea/coffee .

We've stayed here in the past and it's always been good. they've done some refurbishment since our last visit and the hotel is even better than before. i wouldn't hesitiate to recomment the hotel to anyone as it's clean, well presented, well located for travellers/site-seers, the staff are helpful... etc. everything you need really. one tip - if you can, get a room at the back of the hotel as it's quieter (the front overlooks the street, which isn't terribly busy or noisey - but the back is prefereable).

Thoroughly recommended

We got a super reception, even when our flight was delayed and we turned up 3 hours late at 1am. and what a room. for what we paid, it was amazing. tea and coffee facilities, minibar, complimentary sippers, and a good range of toiletrys constant hot water, and effective air conditioning. quiet room, overlooking car park and terrace, and a comfortable bed. lovely hotel facilities, with abundant tasteful murals. breakfast was great. lots of it,and of a good qualitiey- ham and eggs, as well as a rnage of breads, cereals and pastries.and serving at 7am was a bonus, as it meant it was easty to get out, and make the most of the cool mornings, and catch buses and trains from the station. we bought tickets at the tabac opposite the hotel, and caught the bus to /from the station and aerport( cost 95c each). considerably cheaper than the 10euro taxi ride at 1am! only blur was a reluctance to arrange car hire for us- but that was just one member of staff, and i think he was having a bad day, as there had been an accident in the car park( which is compact), and some unhappy guests around! we recommend liberty car hire: pick up car from airport ( took us less than 25 mins from hotel to car hire place at airport), and they charged us 45 euros for a full 24 hour hire, unlimited mileage.recommend a visit to monteriggiano, but avoid the tourist trap of san gimignano- the only place in this lovely region where we felt like tolerated tourists, rather than welcome guests!!lucca was lovely, as others have said. spoilt by so many lovely places to see. we shall definitely be going back to pisa, and to this very well lovctged, excellnt value hotel

Fantastic stay in this medium sized friendly hotel located midway between the leaning tower and the train station - both within easy walking distance. good service, no problems with language barriers (all staff spoke good english) and nice terrace bar and rooms.thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely fab hotel!

I spent just one night in this hotel (sadly) and it was absolutely great. the room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were great. breakfast in the morning was also very satisfying and was better than the normal continental croissant and cofee. my only gripe would be how the reception staff push their services. on arrival a porter is essentially imposed on you even if your luggage is small. of course you then feel obliged to pay a tip. that in itself is not the issue but i think they should ask if you need help rather than assume. the receptionist also give the impression that the hotel shuttle is a free service when in fact it is slightly more expensive than the local taxis. other than that, the hotel was absolutely great. it's within walking distance to pisa central station and the river. also it took us about 20 mins to walk to the leaning tower and that included window shopping. i would definitely stay there again and i would recommend it to other travellers. enjoy your stay

Hotel bolgna, pisa, italy

An ideal location for a stopover in pisa since it is just over a 5 minute walk from the railway station. we found the hotel very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. it had plenty of facilities including a useful airport transfer for 5 euros per person for the 10 minute drive from the hotel to pisa airport. a plentiful continental breakfast was included in the tariff and there is only a short walk to the main part of the city with plenty of restuarants to choose from.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in may, 8 friends. no complaints whatever about the hotel or pisa. would recommed going to lucca on train, only 20 minutes and florence, beautiful city. only complaint, never found a good restaurant, so much for italian food. the gentleman in the tobacco shop across the road from hotel was amazing, we spent two nights there and the hospitality was great.

Excellent choice

Stayed with 5 other girls at this hotel and found it to be an excellent choice. the location was perfect - about 20 mins stroll to the leaning tower and about 10 mins to the train station where we caught a train to florence for a 'day out'. the hotel was a beautifully presented, restored older building which made you 'feel' that you were in italy. wonderful. the rooms were spacious and clean with minibar, toiletries and fresh towels provided daily. breakfasts were self-service with a good choice of hams, cheeses, cereals, croissants/pastries and even bacon and scrambled egg. the staff were very friendly and were only too happy to help us with any queries we had. we were very happy with the hotel and would highly reccommend it to anyone staying in this beautiful region. (btw - the price we paid through hotelsclick was unbeatable.) ciao!

Pisa with a smile

Overall an interesting, if not demanding, stamina wise, short break made all the more better by an excellent choice of hotel at a very affordable price! we found the staff helpful and courteous at all times, the hotel was clean and ideally situated for sightseeing in pisa but also for the train station to transport us to other sights/cities. the only two minus points, from my wife's point of view, were the lack of tea making facilites in the bedroom and no bath, shower only, but with a well stocked bar in the hotel why bother with tea!!!

Birthday treat to pisa

we thought the hotel was excellent, the location, breakfast, room and staff wonderful. it was also very clean. the only one comment was that the room we had had no natural lit from the window or view but, we were only there for 2 nights. i would stay there again without hesitation.

Wonderful hotel, great location

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we weren't disappointed on our return. the location is perfect within easy walking distance of the leaning tower, shops and train station. it is also on the bus route to the airport. the rooms are tastefully decorated with lcd tvs and spotless bathrooms offering a variety of complementary toiletries. the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. the only negative point is that the rooms at the front of the hotel can suffer at night from the street noise. i would therefore recommend asking for a room at the rear of the hotel.

Holiday

Bologna

Great location. 5 min taxi ride from airport - 8 euros. 10-15 min walk to the leaning tower. 5 min walk to train and bus station. 2 min walk to shops and restaurants. staff extremely friendly and helpful, great breakfast, rooms on the small side, but spotlessly clean, and good range of toiletries in bathroom. foyer and corridors a little on the dowdy side, but other than that, no complaints. great value for money, i would certainly stay here again.

Hotel bologna is an excellent hotel

We have recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be excellent value for money, a fantastic hotel! all of the interior reception / dinning area and bar is painted with street scenes which has been completed to an excellent standard. breakfast is not quite continental for those of us who prefer a hot breakfast there is bacon and scrambled egg available and all of the food is excellent quality. the location is idealy situated in the new town and 5 minutes walk from the old town and approx 20 minutes walk from the leaning tower. the staff are very helpfull and friendly and the standard of rooms in my opinion was excellent, they were set out well, perfectly clean and even had a mini bar that was very reasonably priced. to get to the hotel costs around 8 euros, you can get the train to pisa central but you would then have to walk from the station which is about 10 minutes walk and not the 400mtrs that it says. all in all, as you have probably guessed we had a fantastic stay at this hotel and i would recomend it to anyone. finally as i read in a review before booking, dont be decieved by the location and the fact this hotel is on a side street

Great location

A nice hotel in a great location. rooms were very clean and comfortable. there is also a lovely terrace where you can relax or escape the sun. i would recommend this hotel and stay if i were to find myself in pisa again. the pizzeria down the alleyway to the right of the hotel is very nice, cheap and 1 minute away. all in all a good hotel.
