Xmas trip

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the bishops house hotel and once again we found it to be an excellent choice. friendly staff, impressive rooms and a very decent breakfast. the position of the hotel on the quieter side of charles bridge was what first appealed to us and what a good choice that has proved to be. away from the crowds but only a few minutes walk across the bridge from old/new town. within walking distance there are many fine pubs and restaurants housed in glorious old buildings hidden in fascinating streets.

The bishops house

We had a great weekend break at this hotel which is in one of the best locations at the foot of charles bridge in mala strana. hotel itself is fairly traditional with very helpful staff. we had a room in the "tower" at the back of the hotel which was very quiet and we did not experience any problems with noise that i have read about in other reviews. the rooms were warm ,comfy beds and very clean. breakfast was continental cold meats, cheese bread and pastries - plenty of it!. cannot fault this hotel and would recommend it. i would recommend changing money at "exchange" off at old town square rather than changing before visiting prague. the exchange rate is higher with no commission payable. do not change currency at the booths dotted about prague as there are high service charges even though they appear to offer no commission.
