The relais Dante and Beatrice are situated at the second floor, they are provided with the lift and with a view on the private garden of an ancient palace of the eighteenth century of Via Cavour. We (two adults and a child of age 9) chose to stay at b&b dante e beatrice because it was cheap (less than 60 euro/night per room via hotelsclick) and it is situated in the center, but slightly out of the noisy crowded places. it was very silent in the nights. it takes about 10 minutes by foot or 2-3 minutes by bus (which stops just next to the b&b) to reach the cathedral, add 5 minutes by foot for uffizi. direct buses to the central railway station (usually) every 10 minutes, and it takes about 7 minutes to reach it. the personnel is friendly and helpful.
