An excellent value, very clean hotel with friendly staff. slightly shabby furnishings but scrupulously clean. good continental breakfast. good location for central london attractions. stay only slightly marred by current thames water work on the street at front of hotel.

Very conveniently placed hotel at the back of bbc broadcasting house and within a few minutes walk of oxford street. the hotel is not luxurious by any means and the rooms are tiny. they could do with being refurbished as well. that said, the hotel's position is unbeatable for the price. continental breakfast of cereal, toast, pastries, tea, coffee and juice provided. ideal for a place to sleep in the heart of central london.

Hotel for 1st class we stayed 2 nights. staff were very helpful and friendly. breakfast was very good. rooms were spacious and very warm. would def recommend and would def return to this hotel. location for shopping is excellent just off oxford circus station. would rate 10/10

Really friendly hotel, staff very polite + helpful. rooms were very spacious for london, separate bathroom, toilet, and large living area. flat screen tv with trouser press tea/coffee loads of room to hang clothes - safety deposit. minus 2 to minus 4 all week but hotel was really clean warm and friendly.

Have stayed twice now and whilst rooms are basic they are clean and tidy. have been fortunate in not being allocated downstairs rooms as these look pokey and not very private.furnishings and bathrooms could do with some tlc as rather marked and tatty. big pluses are the friendly staff, location and price for london. hotel is only a few minutes walk from oxford circus or great portland street tube stations and if you're more adventurous you can walk to a number of major attractions e.g british museum saving travel costs.

My wife and i arrived at the astor court to be greeted by a very polite receptionist who advised us of breakfast time and our room number that was room 6. room 6 was the only poor part of our stay the bed was two singles pushed together, the room was small and the bathroom was in need of attention as their was old filler around the bath (black instead of white) and grout missing from bathroom tiles. this made the bathroom look dirty. i was not happy with the bed and the general condition of the bathroom i made my way to reception and requested a room change and stated my reason why, the polite receptionist apologised for the situation and advised i could not swap my room tonight as the hotel was booked and no alternative could be given but i could swap in the morning. we were moved to room 45, a much better room with a much cleaner well maintained bathroom with separate toilet. the rooms are basic, but i would say in general they are nice, warm and clean (everything you need) the breakfast is continental with many well known cereal brands, toast and many different breads and cheese (inc tea, coffee & juice), the breakfast is self service in a clean, well maintained area. overall the breakfast is average but its enough to set you up for the morning and again all staff are polite and helpful. the location (5 mins walk from oxford tube and three mins walk from starbucks is ideal. my overall opinion is good of the astor court, its cheap (for london prices) the rooms are warm and clean, the breakfast is good enough to set you up for the day and all the staff are polite and very helpful (yes i would stay at the astor court again when i visit london)

We were very pleased with this hotel. it was clean, our room was large and very comfortable and the service at the hotel was very good. the hotel was very close to wimpole street where i was having laser treatment. the price we paid to stay here was a real result - half the advertised rate! the only minor problem we had was with a whistling pipe in the bathroom but managed to rid ourselves of this by turning on all the taps and flushing the toilet at the same time.

I stayed here on my hen night which i had booked over 6 months ago through hotelsclick.com. when i arrived at reception i was advised that 1 room had not been booked. i had full proof the room had been booked and paid for. the supervisor was extremely rude and said it was my fault for booking through an agency and not directly at the hotel, i'm not sure what this had to do with anything?! we had to rush off as we had a show to watch and asked if this could be sorted out on my return. i felt the attitude of the supervisor was very unhelpful. on my return the superviser was no-where to be seen and one of the other members of staff had found the booking! breakfast was very nice, continental style.

Having read mixed reviews we didn't know what to expect. our experience was that the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. our room was spotless, adequate for our needs and looked recently decorated, crisp white sheets and soft white towels. the breakfast room was maybe a little small and the choice of food limited, we would have liked to see some kind of fruit but the staff were very attentive and kept everything topped up and the tables were cleared immediately people left. it was very hot when we stayed so air-con would have been good. this is a good budget hotel and we would stay there again.
